Sir, Did You Lose Your Wallet?
bigfry replied to reevesr1's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
lol how much money was in the wallet. -
buy a pontoon first and practice on that first. get comfortable with that and you'll get the basics of learning a drift boat. had a buddy out this weekend on the boat who never rowed a drift boat before but he does own a pontoon and he gets out quite a bit. He picked it up quite quick and basically earned himself a spot on the boat. on the other had a few weeks ago had another buddy out who never rowed before or been on a pontoon and ya long story short is he will only be invited when absolutely necessary. and he will only be rowing though the slow stretches

Has Anybody Been Out For Drift Recently?
bigfry posted a topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
which section did you drift? how did it fish? any surface action yet? how were the launches? would you repeat this weekend? -
I broke my sage rod tip while drifting. brought it into fishtales and they sent it out for me. roughly 2 months later it was ready at fishtales to pick up. of course I had to pay the 50 dollars. I lost the tip of my Winston rod, sent it in paid 175 usd and got it back within about 2.5 weeks

do not buy a scadden unless you want to be making numerous phone calls to maybe get your boat sent in multiple shipments over the span of 4 months. finally after I received the last package the next day I receive another complete boat exactly the same. which I sold. guess I can't complain because I got my boat for free basically. but dave scadden is so disorganized and just a disheveled mess.

thanks

Just trying to plan my float for this weekend. Has anyone recently floated from Fish Creek to Policemans Flat? how long did it take? How about Police to Mackinnons? Thanks

It's not really that difficult to get a permit. For the drone thy I have all I need to do is go online and submit a form. Once I submit it online with the details I'm legal to fly

Ended up buying the fishpond boat net in the river camo. Love the net. Wanna take pictures of it rather than the hogs it scoops up

Just about to purchase a net for my driftboat. really leaning on this fishpond nomad boat net: http://fishpondusa.com/product/detail/nomad-boat-net/2068 It seems quite a lot for a net. comes out to 300 after CAD conversion and taxes. What do you guys use for your boat?

Hey guys, Just purchased a new high end drone for work that shoots 4K video and shoots 16 mp photos. Testing on work related stuff seems so mundane. If anyone is interested in being the test subject while fly fishing a stream outside of the city or even the bow away from powerlines and lots of trees let me know. or if any shops or guides wants aerial footage of their boats/guides launching or floating downstream for use on possibly a commercial or advertisement this would be perfect will even provide the raw footage to you. please keep in mind I will not edit the videos, I only shoot video and photos total time I plan on flying and recording for is roughly 1.5 hours. PM me thanks

Question About Steelhead Fishing
bigfry replied to troutlover's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I choose to go all the way to bc because your catching the steelhead at the beginning part of the run. they are much more plentiful. I spey depending on the river im fishing, normally where I catch steelies are bigger rivers with runs in the middle or other side of the river which a one hander cannot reach to from one side no matter how far you cast. its nice to get such a big swing cause you can cover tonnes of water. plus its nice to use both hands to reel a monster in. you could try a single hand rod but Its just so much easier with a spey. -

Don't even get me started on that. Would never buy a product from him again. Very disorganized. -
Did You Catch This Last Thursday?!
bigfry replied to ÜberFly's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
if you got paid to do this interview on the radio, maybe now you wont need anyone to ship your rod for you to save 12 dollars. bonus
