so i got more pictures!!! can someone please help me post it so it shows up as images rather than just links! thanks! this is of my lawn today about 30 mins ago. its really thin,, really need it to thicken up somehow. topdressing is still visible. im thinking if i keep on mulching my clippings i will create a nice layer of thatch? so the top dressing will be less visible, or shall i spread some more seeds! lol https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdQXF1SEpCVnJyM00 these next pics are to show the patchiness of the lawn: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LddFdsQ3k3eTE0LU0 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdVlFRbFJ3bWt0UWs https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdTVRncUo5NzUxVDA https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93Ldb2czdzVENFBlTTA also can anyone please tell me what kind of perimeter bush i have here? i was told it was a cotoneaster but google searches only show them with red berries not the blackish ones that mine produces? here are some pics of an area that a neighbor reversed into apparently. Is there anything i can do to speed up the regrowth? and make the bush more dense with leaves. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdWU1GeGVCb0cwN1U https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdWW16MjNOT0RqdWc -

Sure dandelions are fairly easy to root out, try doing about 2000 of them just in my front yard because the previous owner never took care of it. and its not just dandilions, i have patches upon patches of clovers as well as other broad leaf weeds that i don't know the name of. but im sure my highly toxic herbicide will do the trick. -
Graves Bridge - No More Warnings, Just Fines

How do you know that's what closed It. Unless I see an actual report on paper saying this its all speculation. And I have never ever fished that far rip rap bank on boat or foot. the way I see it it was the idiots who 4x4 or are parked on that gravel bar every single time I drive by that caused it not someone drivin directly to launch the boat. -

It's not attitude at all. I see what's wrong with 4x4ing on the bar. But don't see why everyone's getting their panties in a bunch over launching a few feet up because shore fishers are lined up along the assumed boat launch Btw. I didn't sink my boat someone else did. Thanks for all your help. Wait a minute u didn't help. You just sat there behind your computer screen asking to see pics. Troll -

if i decide to launch my boat a little upstream of where i normally do because there is so much traffic on the gravel bar i don't see it as an issue. i don't feel like having to reverse between people and their picnic chairs to launch my boat in the "assumed" launch stretch. i don't 4x4 or drive around on the bar. i drive to launch. take pictures of me to post all over the forum so that people without boats can shake their finger at me for launching 10 meters upstream or better yet rat me out and call RAP -

So I finally figured out how to upload photos. Here they are. First pic was taken April 3 after aerating, top dressing and overseeding https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdSUhQbVVlandMd1E This next pic was taken May 16 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdNzBSVWx6N3NFRlE I decided I wouldn't mess with the weeds anymore and just let the grass slowly grow. I spread some more fertilizer and have mulched mower and bagged every other mow. Weeds are still there and clovers have established and looks like are not expanding anymore My lawn still looks patchy but I left it and am still watering rigorously. I am waiting to use my secret weapon (Trillion-p) cannot wait to use this. Wife does not know and probably will never know. Will snap more pics once I spray the herbicide Since then I took out 300 sqft of patio stones out and layed down some sod. Next is the deck. I got green lit to redo the deck. Don't laugh. It's original 20 years old https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdQUJXRVZoN3FtNE0 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0E5FBjo93LdNG1QZzJKVWxsbDA Sorry if these posts are annoying on a fly fishing forum but I thought it would be handy to see my progress Turning a neglected lawn to hopefully the nicest on the block On a side note can anyone recommend how to rid of ants without killing the grass. Thanks -
Bought it last week and arrived Friday. it looks pretty slick. See you on the river.

Lawn Experts Please Help

thanks lad will definitely be picking up some par 3 shortly here. if anyone has any for sale i will buy! please pm me but this weekend i waged war against these dandelions. Friday i came home with one of the weed removal tools. i basically aerated my back yard one hole at a time, removing each flowering dandilion and bagging each one. i sprayed each remaining leaf and left the lawn alone. Saturday morning there was no change. i noticed some dandilions ready to flower or a few days from flowering so i manually picked all the flowers off and bagged them (i fgure this would save more dandilions from growing next year) i went and put my mower on the highest setting and mulched the clippings. after that i sprayed down each one of the thousands of weeds left, i thought it would be a good time because the tops of the weeds were cut open from the mow, i picked up some new stuff called weed be gone, i also bought some concentrate and increased the ready mix concentrate by a little. hopefully by the time i get home it they will be dying. after that i put more seeds down around the bare spots still left from top dressing before. after the seeds were down i sprinkled some top soil i had left on top and a few hours later it rained. we shall see. -
Trolling Motor For Hyde Aluminum Drift Boat

Thanks for the suggestions guys http://www.cabelas.ca/product/45039/minn-kota-endura-max Or http://www.cabelas.ca/product/6729/minn-kota-traxxis-transom-mount-trolling-motors These two are what I'm looking at pulling the trigger on. Does it matter if it's a 36" shaft or 42". The first one looks like it has the maximizer on it but only comes with 42" shaft. The other one comes in a 36" shaft. I don't know what to do -
I have a buddy from Fort Mac who arrived in Calgary now. His house was one of the ones burned to the ground. He lost everything. He had lost his job on the patch and had two kids. It's so sad. I gave him all the cash I could in my bank account. I offered him and his family to stay st my house as long as needed as well. He was thankful. It's so unfair and really puts things into perspective.

Hi I'm a total noob to trolling motors. But I'm in the market for one for my aluminum Hyde for when I do take the daughter out so I won't have to worry about rowing. I have a motor mount so that's handy as well Can anyone recommend what would be the most ideal setup. I guess money isn't really an issue. I prefer comfort and quality over price. But not too expensive. thanks

Bow River Access In The City Of Calgary
bigfry replied to fishteck's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
apparently according to "paddle alberta society" facebook page they said "Calgary Parks is working on having the barriers removed today. the uproar from the paddling community not being able to do rafting programs with school children was a bit of an issue with them there". my reply was "why doesn't the paddle community make some rafting programs through the upper city so they open up the other fully functional launches" maybe we can use this to jumpstart a push to get the other launches open ill bet even if the city doesn't remove these in a timely manner, they will be rearranged in no time- 66 replies

Lawn Experts Please Help
bigfry replied to bigfry's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
hey guys thanks for all the help, so a little update last year i just buzzed the lawn as short as i could so i wouldn't have to see all the weeds growing on the lawn. This year what kicked off my lawn was those guys rolling around asking to aerate, how could i turn down such a good deal April 9 - Aerated the lawn April 15 - Topdressed with a nice loam and compost mix and over seeded with a scotts coated seed (i put a whole costco bag down) April 30 - Fertilized with Scotts Green Max (no weed control) Since top dressing have been watering all zones 5 times a day at 5 min cycles to keep it moist. my lawn today the WEEDS exploded. there is not much i can do because my new grass is still so short and new. its taking a long time for the grass to outgrow the topdressing i tried using the spot Killex but it will literally take me 2 weeks to spray every individual one. im so temped to just rip out all the old grass and redo the sod. so my questions are: whats the best product to spot treat each weed. something thats super effective. does anyone have any of the good stuff left over that i can buy from you. -

Floating The Bow For The First Time
bigfry replied to millartech's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
go float a lake first, practice how to control it, get comfortable on your toon before you float the river for your own safety and the safety of others
