  1. I didn't have my camera with me.........which reminds me I got to add one of those waterproof ones to my Christmas List!
  2. It sure was tough to leave but glad I did it now that I have had some time to think back. I guess in a sense I was lucky that I had someone to call.
  3. So I ducked out of work early this aft to hit the river. I was wading through and stumbled across a pod of about 15 fish. I thought I was dreaming because I never have seen this many fish this close before. I had no idea what they were because I'm not that experienced that I can identify fish from a distance. So I cast upstream and BAM 19" Brown in full colours head shakes and jumping like mad. Next case same results only a little bigger. Hmmm I'm starting to get a guilty feeling so I call a friend to confirm if this is what i think it is. Sure is! a bunch of Browns spawning. I turn back and let the romance take it's natural course. So I guess the real reason for the post is to see if you would have done the same or continued? I couldn't believe how easy it was to catch them. Also I was wondering if I would have effected some of the spawning - a few less Brown trout for the future on the Bow?
  4. I have had a chance to fish all the spots you mentioned and honestly I can say they all produced fish for me. Can't say any spot was that much better than another. Tight lines dude.
  5. Awwwwwesome report guys. Welcome back.
  6. Cool pics of that school.
  7. Great pics and thanks for sharing!
  8. Hudson 11wks wearing NON-Polarized glasses.
  9. Gordon it was a please to get a chance to walk with you during the clean-up and hear your stories about what real fishing pressure is. It made me really appreciate what we have right here in our back yard. Thanks, Chad
  10. Again many thanks to Rich & Rob for putting all this together. It was a great day to be out on the river and meet some of the folks that have provided me with valuable information during my first year of fly fishing. Great food, great prizes=great time! BTW I got the prefect prize, the Thompson world class tool kit. I wasn't going to start tying for another year or two but now I have the perfect start so I better get going this winter. I wish I could have stayed to watch the demos but I had parenting duties to get to. I was still a little late helping Brownstone break into his car ......."who says you can't lock the keys in a Jetta!"
  11. I going to try one of these out. thanks dude.
  12. Sounds like this story is shaping up to be a legend
  13. interesting comment on the red lens. I know from experience that the bright light did attract almost every dam bug within inches of my eyes last time I fished after dark. Does it really make a big difference or just slightly?
  14. Rickr awesome post dude. You echo the thoughts of many of us 1st year guys. I too have many thanks to everyone on this board especially BigBadBrent, Toolman, and Bhurt for showing me a thing or two on the river. It is priceless and I am humbled to get to fish beside some of these guys. The nymphing clinic was an awesome start so many thanks to Max/Toolman for doing this. But.......I still want to catch a brown over 20" before the ice hits!!! (That's my personal goal before years end)
  15. Birchy you really are getting involved in your first year! good on ya man.
  16. Holy crap! Nice fish and pics guys!
  17. This wouldn't have anything to do with that TBD DVD I gave you? My opinion.....use the worldly travel bug as a reward for finishing school.
  18. Great story of the week guys. Comedy and tragedy. Mostly comedy with the photoshop “BEEEYAAAHHH Beeeatch!!”
  19. I had the same thing what happened to Salty the other day to me as well. I set the hook and after a few seconds the fish was off. It was a quality fly I purchased at a fav fly shop and I pinched the barb with small non serrated pliers. I was back in the same shop the next day talking and he mentioned it could have been a really hard take and has heard that before so he wasn't surprised. It only happened once so I'm not to concerned but Salty you make mention to several hooks? If you have always pinched your barbs the same and all of a sudden you are getting lots of break-offs then is it possible you have a bad bunch of hooks from the manufacture?
  20. Oh no, those are'nt waders, they're dress pants, as I had just come from my office... waders...me? NO WAY! You wear your ninja hoodie to work as well?!
  21. Welcome to the Forum! Lots of guys with experience here so don't be shy in asking anything. Try doing a search on the Crow because I know lots of info has been posted.
  22. Hammer nice fish man. 2 footer....wow that's my goal before the end of the season. TM is that a pair of waders I see you wearing?
  23. Nice fish guys. Looks like you are at a pond?
