  1. screw poking around in a wound. I just had my wisdom teeth out and I know of a great way for revenge if you can fudge a couple medical records...
  2. The last part of the season for Calgary isn't for developing talent, its for making the playoffs.
  3. 650k according to nhl.com, which should be a bargain since he probably won't be trying to chop off any heads come playoff time.
  4. Don't forget the red wire and shrimp hooks! If you want an easy streamer to tie, grab a bucktail, big fly thread, krystal flash, epoxy and dumbbell eyes for some clousers, or the materials mentioned above for Woolly Buggers. Bigger flies are easier to work on while you learn the basics. Also, once you have a materials list, check out a craft store like Micheals for marabou, wire, peacock herl, cheap feathers, markers, beads, and other stuff which is much cheaper than that at fly shops. Lastly, stop by the dollar store and pick up a cheap box of toothpicks. They're invaluable for applying epoxy, head cement, holding materials down while you wrap thread, cleaning the head cement out of eyes, etc.
  5. A bright color jighead can work for an egg sucking leech.

  7. Scud Hook, size 14-18 Body - copper brown wire Head - Peacock herl Wing - Elk or deer hair, approximately the length of the hook shank Thread to match hair
  8. I just PM the person.
  9. Nope, no problems with the Elixir line coiling today. Had some fun learning the skagit style, and even more overheading the line and shooting 20 ft out without any practice. Will be a fun rod on the Lower lake and bull trout streams.
  10. They were some pretty dumb ones, walked up and started fishing about 50 or 60 ft downstream of Toolman, with 3 more of us there.
  11. A screensaver would be great as well, if anyone has the software to do it.
  12. I'm up for it, just got my switch rod rigged up today as well.
  13. Studying the new usage, altering regs, and enacting environmental legislation like that found in BC would be a place to start, but nobody's going to give SRD and the authorities the money to enforce them unless someone with some influence steps up and calls them on it, ideally in the next election.
  14. Might need to be wrapped up if it's going into foreign waters.
  15. Good to hear you're enjoying the new rod! I'm jealous, as my new switch is waiting for me at the depot when I get back from ice fishing in Fort St John. I did find on the Beulah website that the ideal total leader length is 1.5 times the rod length with the elixir lines, so experiment a bit.
  16. Watch out that Miss Piggy doesn't tackle you from behind when using those!
  17. That's what I have and they're not wide enough for my left foot.
  18. 1. Get in better shape to head out to some farther bully and lake spots. 2. Really get the speycasting down so I can do it in my sleep. 3. Beat my 28" rainbow caught at Lower K. 4. Continue to let fly fishing be a relaxing, meditative experience. 5. Find a wide pair of wading boots that will stop #*#@*# up my feet.
  19. You could speycast with it, but it's limited to lighter lines as it's not designed with a spey line in mind. Word on speypages is that TFO is testing different blanks for some new switch rods, but no word on a release date. There is a 5wt 11' spey rod listed on their site for $250, so it could be in that price range.
  20. Alot of the casts I found in the DVD's were for special situations, such as the casts specifically developed for skagit casting, or when you need to pull a sink tip out of the river first. I particularly enjoyed the section on using the single hand rod to combine different casts when you have multiple instructions, some of the tips will be very useful.
  21. That would be great for czech nymping the Livingstone without having to bother to get into the canyon!
  22. In case you need to fish in areas with house values in excess of $3,000,000! I got a $150 to spend at Bass Pro Shops (I guess they sell the cards up here somewhere), so I've got some browsing to do, hopefully for some wider wading or hiking boots. Toolman, will you actually be able to fit all of your spey rods into your car now or are you going to buy a 16' trailer?
  23. I went with the switch rod, as I'll find the shorter length easier to use on any bull trout streams, but it does share a large portion of its grain window with the DC rod, so I would be able to share the elixir line with the DC, though to get to the optimum length on the elixir I would need a cheater.
