  1. I’m in agreement with a lot of things you are saying toolman. I don’t think they need to do tod restrictions to all of ES1 because it doesn’t make sense if water temps are cooler. I fished 2 streams this week with temps at 54 and 55F at the hottest part of the day that were in the high country. We need better management of our streams as well as better education. It’s probably been said a hundred times on here but it would be nice to have to take a course to purchase a fishing licence, another opinion of mine. Sorry if I was out of line in any way
  2. I guess I was wrong about some of the numbers in the study and sorry for having an opinion
  3. The science would say that even though you are catching 77% less fish at higher temperatures you are still killing 69% more fish than at lower temps. I choose not to fish and give them a break
  4. I agree with things being said about time of day restrictions but I don’t think you guys are looking at the whole picture. Forecasted weather is also playing a part in this and I don’t think it would be a good idea to announce it is back open just to close it a couple days later. Most people on here could fish safely during this whole period because you are all educated on playing and releasing fish quickly and doing it in the right areas of the river. But probably 80 percent of people out there haven’t got a clue and don’t pay attention to those details. Example hook a fish in a riffle and over play it into a stagnant pool downstream. I sure if we all think about the way we have seen other people fish there would be a hundred other examples of stressing fish. I think the fish are enjoying a little break as well lol. Just my thoughts but I’m sure I might take a bit of a beat down from some
  5. Farbanks is one of the best I’ve dealt with repairs or warranty
  6. Hey monger what page did it say about angling restrictions. I can’t seem to find it and would like to go over it. Thanks
  7. Hey sorry to bug you but thought you might shed some light. When I was on the Oldman this week there were some small pmds hatching sporadically. When I slid in the lane to get a closer look at them I noticed midges swarming them. Any idea what’s going on there?  Pretty interesting to watch

Yes, the Pmd's were either emerging or were spent spinners in the drift and the midges were mating/egg laying at the same time. I also saw this last week on the Livingstone. Greg

  8. Thx a bunch Don. I’ve always been interested how it works
  9. Don do you know if the stations have to be turned on manually each year or are they done remotely?
  10. Don is right. The have to recalibrate some of the stations in the spring
  11. The flow rates start showing on there around late April or early May. Every year seems different
  12. I agree with your whole statement. If people were a little smarter and paid more attention parks and trailheads wouldn’t be shut down right now and we wouldn’t be in this position. I live in Banff and that first nice weekend everyone flocked to the popular trails. There were well over a hundred cars at Johnston canyon and parks saw a problem so they shut down trailheads. If people were smart and spread out more and like you said not threw garbage around we wouldn’t be in this position. That is what will probably happen at river access points as well
  13. You can totally social distance on the river or trail but that’s not the issue. The issue is with having all those people in the parking lot. I don’t think it’s a problem but the government does. That’s why they closed the parks down
  14. A buddy of mine went to 4 different access points yesterday just to go for a drive. He counted 68 vehicles parked at those spots. I think we are gonna see some changes
  15. this is the most screwed up thing I ever heard
