In central AB our waters have been quite warm since late may. Normally by this time of year I've put in 30-50 days/evenings on some of our wonderful brown trout streams. After an evening of brown drake fishing and a couple fish slow to revive and to be honest I'm not sure probably made it after the release. I decided to give up fishing these waters until they've come down in temperature (still waiting). With a lot more free time I've spent a little more time out on the cutty waters, but also a couple other hobbies are getting much more time put into them than usual during the summer months. I know for me my guitar is seeing a lot more attention than it usually does during fishing season, as well as finally getting around to setting up a much more elaborate tying station in the garage. Just curious about some hobbies fellow members are putting their times towards during these closures.

Amen. Until we have enough C.O's as many new rules or regulations can be made but without the bodies to enforce them what good do they really do. As much as I think some kind of system needs to be in place to become a "guide" i'd much rather see some bodies out there cracking down on the assholes abusing the rivers with their off road vehicles. We all seen the big poaching bust a few weeks ago, imagine how many more busts there would be if when you called R.A.P they actually had someone close by to send to check things out

In this warm water and having them be as tough as they have been to revive if I don't hook them in the lip id cut the tippet. In the 10+ plus years of fishing the central Alberta brown trout streams I have never seen water this low and warm for this time of year. As much as id like to be out there the rest of the week fishing these phenomenal hatches as of late i'm not comfortable with watching them be so slow to revive. If you are fishing these waters and they take a hook deep consider cutting the tippet and getting that fish back in the water asap

Well said! If someone wants to go "lob" streamers let em. Personally i could care less what gear a guy is using as long as its not killing fish, or interrupting my fishing experience. Too many internet warriors / purists put effort into criticizing others because they do things different. If throwing some streamers on a lighter rod gets the job done for someone and they enjoy their experience fishing all the power to them. While i choose to to focus on fly size in relation to my rod for that day, i have zero f***s to give if someone wants to do otherwise. If your that upset about it maybe you'd be better off focusing on why your not having a great enough time fishing to care what other guys are doing.
