For Mitford in Cochrane you park here 51.189007,-114.490392 and walk to the first pond closest to the parking lot.

Mitford Pond in Cochrane is a great place to go. Lots of space to run around and kick a ball if they lose focus. Also Tims and DQ are close by if you need a snack and ice-cream. Or hit McKays.

When its tournament time you can't get near the place nor do you want to. The traffic and parking is nuts. But for those weeks or days they have nothing going on the pond is a great place to go. Just go to there website and check out the tournaments and plan around that. http://www.sprucemeadows.com/tournaments/ Aug might be a good month to go. Another great pond is Mitford pond in Cochrane. Come on out for some McKays then hit the pond for a bit.

Looks like you only have to pay if you use the boat launch and parking area. Launch somewhere else and you should be fine. Or just pay the $10.00 RESIDENTS of the Town of Chestermere who use the Boat Launch facility at John Peake Park, MUST REGISTER THEIR BOATS/WATERCRAFT at the town office or boat launch. •Non-residents or anyone who does not have Boat Launch decal are required to pay the following fees to launch their Boat / Personalized Watercraft / Non Motorized Watercraft if using the boat launch for the day:" c) Non motorized watercraft (e.g. canoe/kayak/boat with motor under 10 hp) $10/day/non motorized watercraft

I made a call two years ago and the Co was in the area and stopped the poachers. Tickets were handed out an convictions were made. A few month later I had a cheque for just over $300.00 bucks. I've made a lot of calls but that one payed off. The province has a fund set aside for this so why not go for it. Just a nice bonus if you happen to get it.
