theres fish in all parts of the river,what i meant was are you fishing where the fish are holding or feeding?.it doesent matter what flies you fish. if there are no fish holding where your casting you wont catch anything.they dont like to use too much energy when they are feeding.you have to fish the feeding or holding seam.

i was told by the calgary firemans boat that there are no motors all the way down to policeman flats.they said the city limits were extended. this also included electric motors.they pulled me over between 22x and policemans just to tell me that.i had an electic on at the time.

go strait out bedington to the big hills spring road,its road 567.go right and drive down to range road 15 turn right and its about a mile down on the right.i was just out there but the range road has a different name on it but there is a sign for the pond.i was just there but i didnt take a rod but it looks good.there were about 10 people fishing but i saw no fish hooked.these were all bait fisherman.vis was good but no fish rising when i was there.

I get all my flies from ebay.This seller has really well made flies ( kjflyfish81).You have to bid but you can get them for good prices.I showed them to my fishing buddy who has been tying for over 40 years and he got me to order him 5 dozen beadheads because hes says he cant tie them for the price he could buy them for.The shipping is 3.50 for the first dozen and free for the rest.I usually try to get at least 5 dozen plus at a time.I got a dozen triple decker hoppers for 5.50,the beadheads were between $4 and $8 for a dozen.It is all bidding so there is no set price but i never saw a dozen go for more than 8.26.He ships fast and packs each dozen in its own little box so their not all mixed up.i picked up close to 50 dozen since feb for people i fish with just to get ready for to summer.

your reward is a fishery for your kids to enjoy.i now carry a report a poacher card with me at all times so i have the number close.my son is 10 and has his first fly rod and i want him to be able to enjoy this fishery in his later years.

you have to carry a video camera to catch this stuff.it will make an airtight case against them.it would have been tempting to give them a rap on the head.

i dont think any place will fill an expired tank,its just too dangerous.

my airgun is not that loud but shoots 1200ft per second.the squirrels are just to nice looking to shoot,then again its not my deck.

i gave up golf for fly fishing but spend just as much or more.driving all over the province,buying new boats,rods reels line etc.its more of an obsession than golf was.

We should have regs like BC.Nonalbertans should be paying more for a licence than i do.We should have additional fees on all the great rivers for nonresidents.Stiffer penaltys for poachers.including forfiture of trucks and boats and equipment to be auctioned off and the money put towards more fish and games officers in the field.When your at risk of losing everything you own you learn to put the fish back or quit fishing altogether.That last part is for all the people i see down at carsland fishing with bait.

i use my .17hmr.its deadly to gophers,easily accurate at 150yards.the bullet will cut them in half.cheaper to shoot than the 223 and faster and more accurate than a 22.that being said i wouldnt mind finding some fields to shoot gophers either.

Maybe you should start a protest group and march outside off the treatment plants in calgary and the crowsnest, and stop bothering the people that fish these rivers.

i have a 10 foot 5 wt and its my favorite rod for the bow.great for mending.

i use a 4,5,and 6wt in 10 foot 9 foot and 8 foot. i dont spend that much time chucking streamers but do use them.i am more of a nymph fisherman.i know there some big fish in the bow like the elusive 30 incher that has never seems to be photographed but the biggest i got was 24 on my 5wt and had no problem landing it.i had a 3x tippet on at the time.
