  1. i have a 10 foot 5 wt and its my favorite rod for the bow.great for mending.
  2. i use a 4,5,and 6wt in 10 foot 9 foot and 8 foot. i dont spend that much time chucking streamers but do use them.i am more of a nymph fisherman.i know there some big fish in the bow like the elusive 30 incher that has never seems to be photographed but the biggest i got was 24 on my 5wt and had no problem landing it.i had a 3x tippet on at the time.
  3. he is very good and his wife also does casting clinics.
  4. my first rod was the crosswater reddington combo.it was $99 for rod, reel, line ,and backing.i just ordered another crosswater combo off ebay, brand new one for$69 for my 10 year old.his is a 7.5ft 4 wt. i still use my first rod as much as my more expensive rods.
  5. i like the extreme fishing show even more than river monsters.Robson is so funny when he loses a fish.i downloaded them off the net bacause i have never seen it on any of my tv stations.
  6. agreed, the tough cameras are great. not much to worry about except losing them.
  7. your in the right area.its hard to explain without seeing a map but you can drive close to the sheep less than 100 yards walk to the highwood.you follow the range road keeping closer to the sheep side and then the road turns to a rutted road which you keep following.its not far, maybe a half a kilometer.then there is a stop to park and you just walk over the bank to the sheep.i never found it to be great fishing down there but it is a nice hole where they come together.where the range road ends and the rutted road begins you will see an old house that is fenced off and some barns and buildings ,they will be on your right.hope i didnt confuse you more but there is public access.
  8. i fished a few times with hoggstoppah this summer and i believe his numbers.when the fishing is on they come fast, one right after another .if they are small it takes no time to land and release them.as far as 3% mortality, maybe for some fishermen that dont take the time to release correctly.i watched brian work on a cutty on the oldman that some jackass had released upstream from us and he saw it floating down bellyup.he worked on it for at least 15 mins trying to revive it.i still dont think it made it, but when he releases fish that he catches they are revived ready to go.
  9. email me if you want to fish down at carsland next saturday.if you can mend your line you will catch fish.i have a 12 foot jon boat and fish mostly in the back channel.yesterday i only caught 10 the biggest was 20.5.that is a slow day down there.3 weeks ago, i took the wife down and we landed over 45 and she didnt fish.biggest was 23.all rainbow.yesterday it was the prince that finally got them biting but the first 2 hours were so slow.last week it was the worm and yellow john.i will be there most of the day by myself if your interested.also it was probaly someone with there own driftboat, the guides usually show respect to someone fishing in a pool.
  10. just go west from longview about 10k,and look for fishing signs on the left hand side.you will see fish limit signs on the farmers fence posts in different places.these are access points.
