  1. So thoughts might ask a few questions here about upgrading the pontoon. I am buying a trolling motor and battery tomorrow however I have concerns that the mesh back that comes on the outcast 9IR won't be tiring enough to hold 30lbs of deep cycle. For the time being I am going to strap a piece of wood on there. I would like to eventually put some Aluminum on there. strength and weight????? Questions -do you think Aluminium is the best to go with? -where do you get Aluminium? -where do I get it cut to what I need! Any other ideas?
  2. Living paycheck to paycheck while having other financial issues is just going to put more strain and stress on you. And eventhough you may not think stress can affect you, over time it will. If short term pain (going up North) will help you in the long run and relieve the stress and financial problems then I would take it. Another option which may reduce the stress is credit counselling. I have heard good things about the alberta credit couselling service. my 2 cents
  3. Cool phots, nice looking browns. Were you using a color accent feature on a P/C camera? Some of those colors pop.
  4. I was looking at the Colorado and fish cat 9-ir. Ended up getting the fishcat after some advice and love it so far. Advice was that the Colorado is better suited for lakes, due to the aforementioned concerns from rocks, snags or trees.
  5. It was my first line. Not terrible but then again I didn't know anything different and had nothing to compare it too. I found that the tip sunk after the first year which I didn't like and that it got dirty really easy. I have since went to a rio gold line and I love this line. Have tried SA sharkskin , man its slick running through the ferrules, but that sound is so loud.
  6. I would give it some time, Do not know this company personally, but I have purchased a lot of coupons off sites like living social. It seems that sometimes they sell so many that demand for the product goes way up and the company cannot handle the volume and put off answering inquiries until they can clear the backlog. Had this happen with limo service in Napa and scuba diving in Honolulu. I was persistent and kept calling, kept leaving messages and eventually was able to get a date. I know this is by no means an answer from a customer service aspect, and again I am just postulating from my previous experience with other companies.
  7. Recently watched A Backyard in Nowhere, now a buddy and I are itching to try our hand at some pike fishing. Just wondering if it is still too soon for the slough sharks, I know they move into the shallows when the water temp is optimal. Not sure where we are going to head to: we both have pontoons so we don't want to big of a lake so MacGregor is out. Thinking Badger, PCR, or maybe that one up by Beaver (Burnt Timber I think). J
  8. That one is pretty good Doc. If you liked that check out this one.
  9. I have been looking for the same, and am equally confused.... Was in Canadian Tire last night and they have a 2 gallon master craft unit with built in air pressure gauge on sale for $50 regular $100. But it uses a regular plug in. I do have an outlet on the car for such things but I am worried about blowing fuses. Also this thing is a bit big, I would like a compressor not just for pontoons but air mattresses and the occasional tire. There is also a smaller unit that uses your car lighter plug in that is 1/4 the size that pumps out 25l/min, but it is $50, I know I have seen it on sale before, not sure if it is worth $50, so I may wait for a sale. Murray had a small compressor when went together earlier this year, maybe he will chime in with what he uses for his pontoon. Here is the unit I am looking at: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Au...r.jsp?locale=en Anyone have any thoughts on if it will work for my purposes? J
  10. I must say that is pretty excellent picture. Done with Macro?
  11. You're a little young there JBear to be complaining about a bad back already ;-) Nice ties, keep up the good work
  12. Two buddies in fact. One on my right shoulder that's says, be a good lad, go home early, make supper, take out the garbage, do the dishes and rub her feet. One on my left shoulder that's says, come on just 10 more casts. I often ignore the first...
  13. Just bought a 2012 Subaru imprezza. 5.0l/100km and AWD. Loving it so far. Also have a 2000 V6 grand Cherokee. Both are awesome fishing mobiles.
  14. I bought the star walk app for the ipad, learnt a lot and use it when I teach the Space Unit to the grade 9's. Does an amazing job of telling you which star is which, constellations, asterims, planets and their rise and setting times. Also find it helpful as a solunar calendar for fishing. Great Shots Ryan, I will invite you next year to do a presentation on the images you captured and how you did it. Would really interest a lot of students. I could introduce you as Dr. Birchy J

  18. Never seen a pair where one is an inney and one an outey
  19. Nenshi responded and said he had no idea why there is a gate. He gave me his email and he will have someone from the city look into it.
  20. If the Fire Department or City didnt put up the gate then who did? Seems to me that the city should have this information. I am sure that some type of permit would need be attained for something like this. I tweeted Nenshi, he is pretty johnny on the spot for answering tweets, I will see what he has to say, and I will email a couple of people I know in the city.
  21. Agreed Hopefully, Kal3 isn't the the Freshci I was talking about in my ealier post or he may smack me with a steelhead. ;-) I liked the episode March 13th as well.
