If you think it's safe to be fishing along the Bow during a thunderstorm, check out the memorial upstream from the confluence with the Highwood on the north side of the river. It's in the big stand of trees at a real nice pool in a bend on the river.

But I sure like the way that Byfuglin guy plays for the hawks. He did a number on Kipper and he's after Lou in this series, though I noticed in the game that Lou was giving it back. I'm a bit of a minimalist I carry two boxes in the summer, dries and nymphs. In the winter I have nymphs and streamers. If I'm fishing a real small stream I have just one and in lakes just one too. I tie my own flies and find I go through a fair amount, I lose about a dozen in a days fishing, a lot on the bottom, a few to fish and lots to my favorite Charlie Brownish fly eating tree. Which from looking at, reminds me of a Christmas tree with ornaments, except in this case there's a few indicators, a couple of streamers and assortment of nymphs and worms. So I'm sure some you have helped decorate it too.

It was the day you and Tex went to......uh that place. Kind of slow, those two were all I managed to dredge up, other than a couple of sticks.

Well I think I did catch that same fish late last summer, just downstream from where you picked it up. I've got an old analog picture that I've been trying to post for a while now. If I can get it here, you all can decide.

Yup the hawks were all over the flames, just blew them out, what was the score something like a hundred million to nothing. The only issue was when the flames had them on the ropes they opted to protect the lead instead of increasing it. When your foot is on your opponents throat, don't let them up.

That is what some want but I think that they forget that humans have been around that area for 10000 years give or take, so to eliminate them is an unfounded delusion. I guess it's a swing away from when you could drive your car into Lake O'Hara or Marvel Lake and catch your limit.

So I'll complain about the weather. It's always like this in April here in the foothills. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I went to Disneyland too. I mean BassPro. Lots of tourists there and lots of ooohs and aaaahs. But I found it to be as the rest of you have, a sporting goods Walmart. I guess the guns are where the deals are, according to a co-worker, but as far as flyfishing I have seen lower prices at Westwinds and the other stores here in Calgary.

I just carry spray, I had a yearling grizzly come at me last year as I had a real nice cutt on my line. When the bear realized I was a human he turned and beat it up the bank and was gone, before I could even reach the can on my belt. I personally believe the great majority of bears are more afraid of humans than we even know. Which is one reason the bear studies are somewhat erroneous, because some bears are so fearful that if they get even a slight indication of a human presence they are gone. They would never even come near a barbwire baited site. So I have gone through three cans of spray without having discharged one. I hope my streak continues (knock on wood).

I have heard that the outfits on the leftcoast that catered to Americans and Albertans coming to fish for Pacific salmon are dropping their pants. Don't know about here though.
