I called the # and calls cant be connected, I wasnt surprized. So I filled out the form and emailed it in, will post if they contact me or say anything interesting. After doing some reading apparently they are quite a rare siting. Guess I shouldve snapped a few shots of it setting its wings while landing right beside me but this would all take place while I was fighting/landing the fish lol!

While he kept flying towards me I was thinking this guy must be starving.

Conor, Im sure thats it man, Mottled color some nice striping, yup Im sure thats the one. This bird was not afraid of me, he/she was sketching me out abit lol! He was low holing me and then wanting my fish to, wouldnt leave me alone. Were ever he came from Im guessing people were feeding it. Thanks.

Nope none of the above lol! Iy does look like a Crane or Heron its the colors that make it differant.

No this thing was huge like a Heron, long legs, very tall bird, long beak, standing on the rocks etc. I have spent some time watching the Osprey's this year, there seems to be a siting regardless of were I go, they are quite fun to watch.

Was fishing a stretch in the city about 5 days ago, when I hooked into my 1st fish a huge bird came flying towards me to the point were I yelled "hey" just to scare it a little, he/she was coming right me. So anyways it lands about 3 rocks over maybe 15' away, very close. I hooked another and swoosh this bird comes right at me, now Im like "beat it buddy this is my fish". This continued until I left an hour later, landed 6 fish and the bird did the same thing everytime. I thought it was a Blue Herron at first but because it was so close to me I could clearly see it was not Blue/Grey whatever color a Heron is. This thing was the size of a Heron but it was multiple colors of beigey brown/grey with a very light colored chest area it also had black stripes on its chest. My question is, is there any other huge birds on the river besides Herons and has anyone ever had this happen to them?

If your fishing the Bow you will definitely need a net, a big net is best lol. In the last week or so I have been broken off a 1/2 a dozen times and have landed a few good 20"+, I had to start using 3X to my 2nd and or 3rd fly if nymphing. The Bow is tons of fun, you should have a blast and catch some big fish.

They need to start with Daryll. Since becoming GM he has done nothing for this team.

After reading this I went for an hour last night at dark and swung a boatmen on a sinking line, got three! Nothing big but is still fun to feel that strike at the end of the swing. Ive never officially been shown or told how so Im kind of winging it, I think!

I do believe we will still have a good club this year but moving guys like Reggie will only make us better. We need some defencemen that can skate with Ovey and guys like Toews etc. The year we lost to the Hawks in the first round it was sickening. Somehow I managed to see all the home games in that series and man did we look slow and old compared to them. We cant compete in this league with a big, old and slow defence, it just aint happening. Im not sure if we moved Sarich yet either but he is another guy who cant skate with most teams out there ( I do like Cory though).

Nothing would please me more than to see the Flames move this giant can on skates. He is big, slow, injured and not getting any younger. I've never been a fan of Reggies, besides hitting the odd guy in the corner he is useless. I feel as though he is one of the reasons this team doesnt get any better, he moves like he stuck in quicksand. Anyhow when I read the article it gave me hope that they may finally move REGGIE THE PLUG!!

I think its a squaw fish, not sure of the spelling. Its out of the Okanagan, I must have caught 100 of them mixed in with Lake Whites, Rainbows and or the small Salmon that are in there (kokanees I think) and a few Suckers. There are Carp up to 30 lbs in the lake, I did see a few of them and tried like hell to get one but they werent havin it. Caught a ton of fish, it was alot of fun.

Its the way of the new world man and its only going to get worse. This is a problem that cant be fixed or reversed. 3/4 years ago I wouldve fished with anyone anywhere anytime, now when I see people coming towards me I tense up, its a battle for water out there! If Im not fishing with you already then I dont want anyone near me, for the simple fact that low holing is a common occurance now and I just assume its going to happen........again! There are a ton of nubes out there that just have know clue how to be. IMO the more peple fishing the river the more tension there will be, people are becoming defensive out there and I'm one of them. I ran into the same group of guys twice this week, I could clearly tell that they wanted nothing to do with me stopping to talk, they would hardly even look at me and I dont blame them for that. Dont worry boys Im not going to ask to fish your water I was just saying "hi, hows it going". Anyways, try to relax and have some fun because this problem isnt going away it will only continue to get worse. Look at jets boats for example, a few years ago they were taboo and everyone hated the fact that people were taking them on the river, now its the way to go and everyone wants to go in one. I know one person inparticular that was 100% against jet boats but now he has one and "ITS THE GREATEST". Things are changing, not particularily for the better!

Ive got 3 cutters and they do get dull. Like jdangler said, figure out the size and cut a bunch at a time. What works best for me is a ruler to measure the width and then the straight edge of it and a razor blade then scissors to cut to shape.

Tough choice, both great pics. If humor is what you are after then left is good. I personally like the right pic though.

I will talk to some, let some fish my run and will give some my own tied specials. I just wont do it for everybody. There are folks out there that wont do it for me and there are folks I wont do it for. Im sure thats the same for alot of us!
