Springers are great dogs, excellent pheasant hunters, and super fishing companions. What would happen if you just showed up at the door with a cute little liver and white, long eared, heart tugging eyed springer pup?

Yeah Max, that is where it was caught. Jksnijder my brother and his son caught a couple lakers way below the falls last year one around 28" I think and one around the size of the one pictured 21 or so inches

Hey Terry....I very seldom fish far from home and this one was caught pretty close to home. Don't tell me you haven't been out. Been out 6 times since the 7th.

It has been a goal of mine for a number of years to get one of these on a fly. I have tried a few times with no success. Got this one today without trying

They are winter runs, early winter. The 36" buck (according to local guestimates) would be in the 18lb range. The 32" hen would likely be 12 to 14lbs

Way to go Canada!! Great game played by two very good teams. Canada definately showed the world what they were made of. Reffing was decent as well.

If you are fishing subsurface and you think you have snagged a rock...make sure it is really a rock before you try to break it off. Best of luck and have fun

If yours is the camera I saw at the bottom of a big hole...you will need more than just waterproof. A floater might be a good idea Like I should talk after mine went for a swim in Barnaby

Lots of real nice pics. Loved monger's dawn at Langara and Bhurts sunset or sunup but had to vote for beadhead's storm coming to the raven....great composition. OOps wanted to vote for beadheadwally (wally must of been late)...beadhead's pic of the lines on the water with him and his daughter is still a good choice

Don't get set in your ways. I learned tons from a great fisherman close to half my age with, of course, half my experience. Youth can be a great teacher.

Yeah tying in biot tails can be a pain. I generally dub a little ball of fur at the bend of the hook then tie the biots in. The little ball of dubbing gives them some seperation and flair.

Good idea for a thread Wes. Gotta admit though it is next to impossible to beat what is already up. An eagle coming out of the water with a fish!! WOW. Thanks. When we got to that spot the tree stump was all intact. The missing middle piece broke out while I was casting to the log and drifted away. The piece that broke out was the size of pickup truck. The tree was huge. Thanks for all the great replies all!

we fished 10 days. It was only supposed to be 6 but because the rivers were so blown out we stayed a little longer to fish the lower water. We also had on another 3 each with a couple of cohos thrown in.

Went out on our own...no guides. Al has fished for steelhead before but not were we went

After decades of wanting to fish for steelhead I finally found the time this past november to get out and see what all the fuss is about. When we arrived the river we were fishing was flowing at 28 cubic metres a second and a day later was flowing at over 140 cubic metres a second. That made for interesting fishing not to mention swimming. Guess you haven't lived till you have dunked yourself in a rain swollen steehead river in the middle of November. We did get some steelhead and some pretty cutts as well. Al got 3 steelhead including the 36" buck pictured. I got two, my first a 32" doe (pictured) and a 35" buck. I am officially addicted. Steelhead fishing is everything it is cracked up to be and more.
