  1. judging by the cars in the back ground, Iwould guess the age of the photo as early to mid 60's so my guess is every fish got bonked any ways
  2. In that situation I ussually try to place the fly 4 to 5 feet in front of the fish, and let the drift take it to him, that has worked for me in the past. but then again I too have only been fly fishing for 1 season more than you. Teck
  3. thats cause not even hurricanes want to go to Quebec, know how hard it is for a wind to Howl in two official Languages. And I hope your family fairs fine. Teck
  4. I have seen them in Bass tournaments in Ontario. their placing wasn't well but they are there occasionally.
  5. I would definatly fight that 115 ticket for flashing lights, the cop has to prove, the distance. remember innocent till proven beyond a shadow of a doubt guilty. so he has to prove some how the distance between you and him. very hard ticket to stick same as following to close hard to stick that unless you rear end someone. just my .02 Teck
  6. ok So I got my googles on, now what???
  7. usually a Chevy venture, but I picked up a good condition 93 blazer Tahoe for the best price free all it needs is a new muffler, 4wd actuator, stereo. so no effect on my fishing adventures
  8. sounds like an interesting read, please post Teck
  9. My best is actually 4 small mouth bass, 1 dink, and 3 all over 3 pound taken after my father, told me that a fly rod is no way to fish for bass on the grand. Teck
  10. same as the one in Vaughn mills ont. nothing really made me say wow, except the fish tank that was cool and yes i did have jumping in for a swim run through my mind.
  11. my son has a 6wt launch and he likes it, I have cast a couple flies with it and wasn't bad.
  12. thanks grasshopper you will definatly be seeing an order from me might want to checkout our bow river clean up thread. might make a very useful door prize for that. http://flyfishcalgary.com/board/index.php?showtopic=5866 Tight lines Teck
  13. if you don't have the heat shrink just go to the electical section of canadian tire and buy them there .
  14. Talk with the good lads at fishtales, they'll take care of ya right. Teck
  15. good report weedy, but 1 question, what do you do with your reels, you make that sound like fresh off a pole dance hot. I got a bit of wood reading that
  16. Pablo? Go to grand and toy, I just tell security at the office that mine broke and get a new one from them and attach it to my vest. But then again I have been known to be so cheap I could squeeze a nickle till the Beaver farts. Teck
  17. thanks Toolman, new I could count on you.
  18. CAll me a wanker or what ever you like, but for anything i caught here my Cheapass TFO reels work fine, I got them cause they are cheap and replacable, but I have found the both of them I have abused and beaten to rat *hit and they still work fine (ok they need a good cleaning) I look at them as the Chevette of reels the get you to where you need to be will take an incredible beating but you never will get the chick with one. just my .02 Tight lines Teck
  19. ok my turn to chime in. I like bass pro they have excellent prices on alot of the big ticket things that I buy infrequently (ie waders, boot rods reels), but when I am getting ready for a day on the water and picking up the nessesaties (Leader, flies indies) or looking for tying supplies. Then I will be going to Fishtales why I like the staff, I like shooting the *hit and I get what their guides are seeing on the river. same reason I alway stop at vic's in Crowsnest and drop 30 40 bucks on flies and leader he and his guides now their *hit. and I'll get what is hitting on the river. so as far as I see there is a place for both (and in the long run the little guy will see more cash from me Cause I still feed a crap load of flies to the tree behind me ) Tight lines Teck
  20. Yeah but that brown trout that they have in the aquarium is sick, as is the bow.
