Got this handsome gentlemen on the weekend. I was up in edmonton for a wedding so i thought id try some lakes in the area. Went for a damsel nymph and put up one hell of a scrap.

I have tfo axiom 6 wt with fighting butt. Had it for less than a year but rod is prob two years old. The person i bought it from gave it to me with a broken rod tip. Well actually it was the second piece that broke right at where it joins. This is my new bow river hunter and have Thrown huge streamers and nymph rigs with it and never had a prob. My two cents. The best fisherman i know is my dad as well. When i was younger he showed me all of his "secret spots" which i took for granted at the time. As the years go by I find myself now showing him my "secret spots". But i would have no problem showing someone else them as well as long as they were respectful. I think for the most part a good majority of the people on this site fit that catagory to a T. I would have a problem if people were not respectful of these areas but then i wouldnt show these places to these people again. With a growing population, privacy and space bankside will be harder to acheive and we all know they are not making anymore of it. Somebody showed you where to fish at some point in your life. This site is about helping fly fishers flyfish so quit bickering amongest each other. "Secret spots" and "honey holes" have been here long before you and they will be here long after your gone. Finding the new ones is the real fun anyways or maybe I just like swerving from the norm and breaking new water in. im no expert but some of the guys down there use corn patterns. Ive caught maybe 6 carp in my life and they have all taken da worm. fun to catch though if you have on beefy enough tippet.

ram falls is a cool campground and there is good fishing nearby. If you want you could just find a camp off the ftr and random camp. Lots of spots you could get a non 4 by 4 vehicle. hope this helps
