  1. Sounds like you are just running it a little deep to me. I change my depth often pending on weed pick up, moving spots or lack of strikes. As for tippet. I don't generally use less than x3 on the bow as them fish are strong! Plus it is not going to spook them nymphing. I have a few buddies who don't use tippet at all. They prefer products like Berkly Vanish 6 or 8 lb as it is cheaper. I still prefer tippet myself The south is where it is at buddy! Tight lines!
  2. I hope....I know you will enjoy the Bow Phil and this beautiful country of ours. Maybe we will see ya on the river!
  3. Great Vid really well done. Thanks for posting!
  4. make sure you check the grams it can do away with. Some rate as low as 200 with others at 1000. I unfortunatly researched it after the fact.... So a double flush is in order from time to time... I did get my $50 back from the city however Over all worth while with the cost of water these days. Going from 12L to 6L a flush is a step in the right direction. Just make sure you get one that gets the job done!
  5. You should have no trouble..I believe around 3 hrs give or take. You could always row it out. If you are leaving a vehical at fishC... check when the gate closes, as it is closes earlier later in the year
  6. I tie a deadly rolaid pattern for just such an occasion
  7. Fly fusion all the way. I read it cover to cover the day it shows up at my door. Really well done in my opinion. On another note..I got a free sub to Canaidan Fly Fisher when I signed up for Trout Unlim. last year. If they are still running that promo what a great deal. Two birds one stone.
  8. Nice work. Wait till you start bagging fish on your own ties, takes it to a whole new level of satisfaction! Welcome to the addiction!
  9. Never a dull moment on the river with you Scorp, very entertaining! Nice hog, glad you and the boys had a blast.
  10. What about Left Kreh Deceivers. Been tying them since they were in Fly Fusion, fun tie. Have not had the chance to field test them on the Bow too much just yet.
  11. Wow man, not what you said but how you said it. Agree with the majority of your comments above, people often don't see the underlying costs in a lot of services. You can however educate them politely, at the end of the day the customer is the reason you have a job. With regards to tips I know the percentages and I tip well, however they are earned not to be expected.
  12. Mine are done, will drop them by this wknd. Good excuse also to stop in at the fly shop for a look

  20. Looks like you have been busy! Good for you man always worth the effort! Love the pic of the Ram Cheers
  21. Nothing but good experiences in that shop. You want the right info and product, Fish Tales is the ticket!
  22. In Alberta you are able to fish 3 flies. If you are just starting out, two flies to start with might be a good idea as less tangles. Key nymphing into the search on the site or google and you will get info for days to read through. There are many different methods. That is were I would start. edit: note:B.C one fly, both provinces barbless. Always check the regs! Cheers
  23. Right on Bro! Can't wait for fall on the Bow, love that river man!
  24. Depends on the cash flow buddy, I could use one of ever weight at some point! Almost got them too, but don't tell the wife! If it was me I would pick up a 4wt 9' in the brand of your choice (whole other issue). Some guys will say a 3wt but I think a 4wt is a good all round compromise. 9' over an 8.6 as the extra length can be helpful at times. Just picked up a TFO finesse and am very please with it.
