  1. Hey Triploid I saw a lot of pop ups at the show.......................also saw the prices for RV's in Canada and wow!!!!!! Bought after Christmas in the States with the par dollar. Anyhow, I went through a lot of what you are going through ( payload) when looking for my fifthwheel. I also own a half ton although the term half ton really is obsolete. I have a 2010 F150 with the 7700 gvwr and 1800 payload, max tow etc. and looked at well over 20 fivers claiming half ton towable...................bull@#$%^& Finally found one with a 1090 pin weight, bunks for kids and 7050 pounds, with propane, battery etc. I am still close on 2 of my limits. I guess what I am saying is there turned out to be an option..........but with the camper in box you want I am not sure. Once again, our trucks rate to pull 11000 - 10000 but would max out tounge/pin/ axle long before that!!!!! again bull!@#$%^ Good luck. lots of good pop ups to be found used with furnace, 3 way fridge etc. I had one 3 years ago I paid 4 grand and sold for 3200. Great rig.
  2. Thanks fellas. Been doing a lot of reading tonight! I can't get the RV I am looking at locally as it is an eastern model so really can't push that on a salesguy here. Almost 8 grand difference........................wow. Golfman, did you bargain with the sales guy in the states? I assume there is not much wiggle room with them knowing the Canadian is already saving a good chunck of change.
  3. Looking into this and curious as to others opinions or experiences. The RV I found is considerably less including the GST , other fees, currency exchange, and 2500 bucks to have it delivered to Montana border. I realize there are a few other considerations with warranty being the big concern. It seems the manufacturer ( Forest River) has warranty all accross NA but local dealers can be picky if you buy elsewhere. Anybody? Thanks Rob Feel free to PM if you rather.
  4. I use Hiawatha up off 507 only a few k from the river. Some sites are easy to park and others not so much. Washrooms, power, water and a playground for my 2 rascals. Hope you enjoy the new trailer. I bought a new Max Lite 23 foot rear slide last year and only got a few nights in so I plan to be gone a lot this summer.
  5. Seagull over 20 years ago at the Causway in Cape Breton............................good fight.
  6. I used the same in lawn greeen. Rona about 30 bucks for 14 by6????
  7. I try all beer and enjoy most. I always revert back to my favorite.........................Alexander Keith's..............................must be the Maritimer in me. Bloom can attest to my love of Vitamin K!!!! Actually, will enjoy a few tonight watching the Habs as there is a good chance it is their last game!!!!!!!! Will try to get down for a taste some other time. Thanks for the offer. Thanks God I exercise as I do like beer!!!!!
  8. Great pics. Where is that? I am another of the Caper westerners!!!!!!!!! grew up in a small community outside Port Hawksbury. With two little guys I don't make it east enough but fished Margaree last year with no luck due to no rain.
  9. Very nice. My favorite place to fish by far. Can't wait till next week for a trip down as I have a week for vacation. cheers
  10. Hey Tim............................ I remember we did well regardless and as you say got a laugh out of it. Sometimes you can do everything right and still meet people who just don't get it. I also recall the scoth and beer went well at days end!
  11. I read this 10 plus years ago and remember finding it at the public library. FYI
  12. I am looking at the honda 3000is. Would like to find one used with a few hours on it.
  13. Thanks but to small. Need between 2500-3000 watts to start the AC unit.
  14. Yeah I need 2000 watts plus.............. The AC uses a lot of juice at start up for sure and mine is 13 500 btu. I like the yamaha 2400is but it looks like it does not have a 30 amp receptacle. I know I could use an adapter. The quieter the better for sure. Crowsnest, where did you pick yours up?
  15. Yeah I need 200 watts plus.............. The AC uses a lot of juice at start up for sure and mine is 13 500 btu. I like the yamaha 2400is but it looks like it does not have a 30 amp receptacle. I know I could use an adapter. The quieter the better for sure. Red, where did you pick yours up?
  16. Thanks for all the input. The unit needs to be an invertor as they are quiet and made for camping. The kipor would be a third, forth choice, but they do make quiet invertors and not just industrial units. I would never take a loud unit out camping as I have more respect than that. Good idea on Blackfoot Motorsports...............will check there. thanks
  17. You forgot............................my wife passing me the drink while I tie flies for the next morning!!!!!!
  18. Looking at buying one soon and checking on others opinion if you own one. The Yamaha and Honda speak for themself but are very expensive!!!!!!!! May still lean this way. Also, reading about Kipor. Any thoughts???? Need to buy something that can run my AC unit on the trailer and still be able to service locally. Thanks
  19. And I just bought a W80 3 weeks ago!!!!!
  20. I'm still laughin and if my wife wasn't Italian I would try that!!!!!!!!!
  21. It seems to matter as you are judging something without valid reason. ( unless you did cast the rod in question) I thought that was my question??????????
  22. Curious??? Did you even cast the rod in question? The Sage that is.
  23. Thanks to all for input. Bought the camera and we will see how it goes!
  24. Looking at a new camera soon and I see a lot of you have an underwater type. Looking at a Pentax Optio w80 and looking for some opinion from those that own it. Seems it is loaded with features but the quality of pics is only rated good............. this is with my limited research. Thoughts............................ thanks
