  1. Anybody have a desire for some fresh feathers?
  2. I tie a loose rope off D-rings on the side that loops around behind the seat. I can then tie my 5/16" anchor rope to this rope. I use an 8lb rubberized dumb bell weight for my anchor (anchor rope wraps around weight). You can slide the knot along this rope to position yourself in the wind if need be. I use a wet bag about the size of a sleeping bag to bring along any extra clothes/food/gear for the day. Slide your net in beside the wet bag. Scuba fins provide for great mobility.
  3. Fish cat 4 with the foam seat is the best fishing tool I have. Not too bad to hike in for a day trip with shoulder straps. I did have a seam leak in the bladder but Outcast replaced the bladder with a better version for free. Great service. Both my friends have not used their pontoon boats since getting a Fish Cat 4...easier/quicker to set up and get fishing. Get a wet bag to sit in the space behind the seat and small anchor and you are set.
  4. Drag will have to be reversed as well...flip a bearing or something depending on reel
  5. As the water rises and warms you will see them moving into back bays and swampy spots. There is pike from Bowness to Carsland. Not sure if there is a huge population but they are around. I've seen some 10-12 lbers. Even the Rapala boys don't seem to catch too many.
  6. Fishing was good, lots of the those chrome looking fish were exercised. Pike spawning in rocks along a fast riffle, OK then
  7. Looks like the fish are getting enough shrimp to eat. Thanks for the pics
  8. Spooked this guy in about 5" of water this morning. I followed him upstream for a photo. What dry fly do experts suggest would work for this fellow?

    A Few Pic's

Don't show any more Coho pictures...it gets me too jealous. Love the flying salmon shot
  11. Looks like the CSI unit is set up about 200m south of 22X on the west side....must be a body in the area. Anyone heard any news?
  12. Thanks for sharing. Love the Brookie shot
  13. Nice shots ggp. It's interesting to see how much variation in color patterns the fish have in the Bow. You must be able to ID a bunch of these fish by their spot patterns from the close ups. I remember reading a paper years ago where a guy set up towers along a small stream back East. They used a camera to watch Browns patrol their territories and had fish IDed by spot pattern.
  14. Not to mention you keep falling in the water
  15. Steve, thanks for sticking up for me....I think. First of all, you southern redfish murderer, how many zombie fish have you seen while walking around? Would you touch one if you didn't have to? If I was going to falsify the story, I would have put the hook (it's a red wiggler, not a worm) inside the fish's mouth to show off even greater skill than Mr. Troutlover. My Mom always said I was a character so I must have some. My asinine fishing buddies/witnesses were out of the province so thankfully I got to catch all the fish by myself, including the zombie. And personally I don't think this fish's shiz would be very tough considering he looks a little tenderized. I can't believe the pure jealousy oozing out from the south side of 22X. I just order the new Zombie Fish Club shirts for my hero Jared and I....just TWO shirts. I guess you'll just have to man up and put a bit more time on the water in hopes of reaching this pinnacle of angling accomplishment. By the way, I saw the zombie yesterday where I released him on Saturday...he's still recovering from the fight (I had to walk downstream with him for over a 100 yards just like the Texans do).
  16. Not to hotspot but, below Police
  17. Since I first met Mr. Troutlover a few years ago I have be in awe of his most impressive skills. The first night I watched him haul fish out of a back eddy at secret spot #2479 I knew I was watching a legend. I have been printing off every post on this board by this fishing master in hopes of gleaning some tidbit that would help me become something closer to this awesome man. Over the past couple of years he has brought an apprentice on board...the Texacan...and now there is two guys cleaning out the Bow. Last week he stuns the fishing community by catching a fish that was not even feeding...an ex-burbot. That is skill! Earlier this week I was invited to fish with my hero on a trip to the magical burbot run. Unbelievably, I turned him down due to the potential snow and minus temperatures expected this morning. He recently sent me a message with a great report of the morning's haul. I'm so stupid.... But...while he was out slaying fish this morning, I was thinking, if it gets to plus 4C, I'm out there. So after lunch I hit the river. Using all the things I've picked up via the internet from Mr. Troutlover I managed to fool some of those shiny, chrome fish. They seem to be fighting better every week. And then the event that may forever change my fishing career happened....I became like my hero. Wading out deep in a fast run, the indicator goes down...hook set....I feel the weight of a good fish. I played this fish with more care than any other in my life. I was a long way from shore and carefully guided him back to the shallows. I needed photographic evidence since I was fishing alone. I was so glad to get him in. Though the hook placement is mere millimeters off from a legal catch, I'm hoping the judges will include my catch on a most exclusive list.
  18. I'm thinking I should sneak by this Geezer fish-out with a spotting scope...there is a chance you old buggers might have learned a thing in the decades you have been harassing fish. Seeing a group of guys as old as dirt fissin' might be inspiring. I think Terry may need some ornery lessons though, he's still got a good attitude.
  19. Now Bob do I have to explain again....those are foam sight stimulators to help me locate my #26 parachute midge on the choppy water
  20. Quick trip after work tonight...its was pretty good yellow jaws
  21. I got checked on Sunday....can't remember the last time before that. Good to see the guys out.
  22. Has Taco joined the Geezer dream team?
  23. Can you buy the 2012/2013 license online at the RELM site yet?
  24. There isn't any (or anything significant) spawning in Upper Kan. It will be interesting to see if the Cutts can get over 20" there.
  25. Nice one Clive...but too much truth I see some research Talapia daily that are being used to observe effects of high water temp ("climate change") on cardiac muscle. Not like Talapia are used to warm (30C) water or anything
