  1. The link below has some good info. Not sure if it will have what you want but it is a good read Regards Mike http://www.flyfisherman.com/warchive/cracker/index.html
  2. Scott, I think your frustration with guys taking over a run is shared by everyone, resident and non-resident alike. Nobody seems to rotate thru a pool, they just monopolize it for the day- especially our nonguided(ha-ha) friends from Europe. We don't bother fishing the Bulkley above Smithers because its like a bloody regatta there. Even saw guys with jet skis roaring around. A lot of the problem is lack of access points, so unless you have a boat you are forced to fish a few areas which get very crowded and if everone parks their azz in one spot it gets pretty frustrating. I think its going to be crowded even if nonresidents are restricted. Don't know what the answer is. As far as the proposed new regs, the 8 day max stay or the one day a week for locals is not a big problem for me. The show stopper is the lottery, I'm not going to bid on a river and pay all the fees only to find its blown out and I can't move to another system. This is ridiculous and there is no way I can afford to play the game. Anyhow, I guess I'll just wait and see what happens Regards Mike
  3. Thanks for the link, the report is an excellent read. The Steelhead fishery is a B.C. resource and they can manage it anyway they see fit. If I don't like the rules I'll go elsewhere. The sad thing is the business people who are going to take a hit didn't even get a say. Regards Mike
  4. Welcome Scott.... Now about that Skeena AMP! Regards Mike
  5. I think my main concern would be icing and freezing up. I have never used one in the winter so I am not sure how it would work. Regards Mike

  7. If you're running 50% humidity in these temps, it's way too high. The link below has some guidelines http://www.blueflame.org/datasheets/humidity.html
  8. I think after we crush the auto workers, we should go after the nurse's union. I mean what are they going to do, leave the province? Oh... What.... Wait!!

  10. Soooo, Did you get one that keeps things hot or one that keeps things cold? Regards Mike
  11. Were those the issues with articles by David Suzuki? Regards Mike
  12. Actually Rick, I think $50/barrel oil and whether President-elect Obama declares that the Oilsands are dirty oil are going to affect Alberta one Hell of a lot more than a Liberal coalition. Don't forget out of the last 100 yrs 75 have had a Liberal Govt in Ottawa and we seem to have done Okay Regards Mike
  13. Do we really want another election? I think we would just end up right where we are now. Maybe it's time for Harper to step aside.
  14. Harper, Dion, Layton

  18. How about "doing the best he can with the mess left by Ralph" Regards Mike
  19. In addition to Rick's valid points, I think voter turnout- the lowest on record- for both the provincial and federal elections should be a major point of embarrassment for Albertans. Regards Mike -not just another yellow dog Tory.
  20. I don't know Terry, it's going to be tough to beat this last market correction. As far as I'm concerned, none of the leaders have taken the high road, so I will vote for a party that reflects my values-- GREEN Regards Mike
  21. Let's see: Harper - Cadman Dion - May Looks like the the only leaders here with clean consciences are Layton and Duceppe
  22. Boy, ain't that the truth!!! Regards Mike
  23. I think I'll keep driving my 99 F150 S/C 4x4 for awhile. I get over 20mpg on the hwy and its paid for. I want to see what comes available in the future before I buy another vehicle. What ever I choose, it's going to have to get better than 30mpg on the highway and have some offroad capability. Regards Mike
