Yeah the straight up SJW will do the job...But I think throwin in some chenille makes all the difference, Sometimes i'll wrap a big lump on the hook and then wrap wire over top to give it that band you see on worms. For me, the Sjw is for weight but why not make it look good and get some fish on it!

When you have a fly that looks bang on its gives you more confidence in it which means better fishing in my mind. But at the same time.. losing a fly you put 20 minutes into can be a real piss off.

Most of my streamer hits are in close with short(ish) casts... i think when i have too much line out i lose contact with the fly and miss alot of hits. No sink tip and minimal shots... I try and dangle the fly as long as i can because i think its more about the movement in the current that gets a fish to strike.

Ive got one fly box, backpack with food gloves and a net, less is more when your dragging it around all day....
