  1. Never tied one but they look like they'd work.Sculpin wool head and rabbit for the back is my guess.
  2. I was thinking of one of these perfect for a shuttle company. Or if i was on the ocean one of these would be good. I think this is my favorite Chick magnet.
  3. These? uni-bobber
  4. Din,your saying thingamabobber makes little posts?Like little air filled tubes or something?
  5. Have a look in the trading post theres an Orvis and a Hardy there for 1/2 price.
  6. Ya and a solar panel on your hat to power it and your heated boots.LOL. Jonny not a bad idea theres lots of fishing nuts out there that would buy such a thing.Jack when can you have them ready?
  7. Happy B-day and thanks for all the work you do around here.
  8. Last Sunday the FC launch was open and will stay open untill we get some snow ,since your probably doing a short float and if you have 3 people then just do the shuttle yourself.
  9. Does Amundson make anything smaller then 3wt?If not, any plans for say a 0wt or 1wt?
  10. I'll second the rubber basket, the bigger holes have less resistance to the current and your flies come out easy. Also i haven't had any bad odors from mine yet either.
  11. LOL! I like the before set up,every thing is in front of you and half the fun is finding it. Nice work.
  12. Well i bend my hooks off to the side for looks and if i use a large hook like a 4-6 streamer i still get a high exit point, so it can still hit the eye.Maybe with the worm hooks its different never tried.I've crimped the gap down before with vise grips on large hooks that seems to work the best.
  13. When i first started tying worms i used the mustad worm hooks,i found that with such a large gap on the larger sizes i was poking some fish in the eye so i quit using them.I now use 10- 16 streamer hooks for the smaller gap and put a little bend to the side but still get the odd smaller fish in the eye.I guess no matter what hooks you use its still going to happen. Was wondering what you guys used to make your worms and why?
  14. I'm a Stamps fan and my wife is a Rider fan so i guess I'm cheering for the green.Doesn't really matter anyway Montreal will pummel the Riders and another boring Grey cup game will be in the books. East 48 West 13.is my guess.
  15. Have a look at the fly shops displays theres lots of ideas there.
  16. read this if you haven't already.I was out today for a couple of hours and had some success.I was nymphing water that was about 4-5' deep i had a small worm say 10 then 12" back a green caddis larva 16 then a blk midge 18-20.The worm was about 6' from my indy and i had a small shot about 10" up from the worm.Hope this helps.
  17. Crazy!Who drives for 8 hours after hitting an animal without checking. Two fuel stops and you don't look to see what the damage is?
  18. Yup leave it be.Same goes if you catch one in the eye or one that bleeds all over, if its over 35cm you can't kill it.You have to let it go even if you no it's not gonna live.
  19. That smile says it all.Congrats.
  20. Hay no prob,it's what we do.
  21. If you use a reusable cup then i think your OK.
  22. Ouch! You could see the flame burn out after Kipper let a soft one go bye then followed by a poor line change goal. The Flames had a couple of good chances and it would have bin a different game if they could have found the net early on.Hopefully a road trip will get the flame going again. Go Stamps!
  23. I always carry a shovel in the truck, some people fill in the holes that i make.
  24. Had another look and didn't see the mono going threw the hole of the zip tie.Should work on the large spools of Maxima and stop all those tag ends that stick out of your vest.I'll give it a try, thanks.
