  1. Its a golden prince 7/8 with case and was 119 GBP or ~ $190 CAD. Its used and has some minor nicks to the finish. I intend to use it with my 6wt on the bow, so a few nicks don't bother me at all. I switched over to click pawls this summer, and it somehow it made fishing even more fun. Good luck on your search.
  2. Kind of goofy but I liked it. Nice fly shop too. I just picked up a golden prince from overseas and can't wait to hear it sing:)
  3. Awesome video! Thanks for posting.
  4. Calling BS and not meaning to offend? These types of posts are unnecessary and can discourage people from posting. I'm with Dave, all I see is someone who looks like they are having fun on the river:)
  5. Wow, great fish! On another note, there goes the theory you need to wear dull colors to be successful:) Thanks for posting.
  6. I hope that you got a deal on the vantage as they are now discontinued and some local shops now have them for 30% off. As others have said, go to a local shop and cast a bunch in your price range. You may be very surprised with what you like. They will also give some advise on what lines match the rod you pick out:)
  7. I have had G3s for over 5 years. They have been great with only a couple of pinhole leaks in that time. I would buy again however I have also been hearing great things about the new sonic welded waders ( redding ton, and now orvis)
  8. I have river walkers and love them. Simms were too wide for my foot, and they are pretty heavy. The river walkers are much lighter and Patagonia has a great warrant. If were looking for new boots I would look at their new aluminum bar boots. Link here
  9. For those people who really don't want flat tires, I would highly recommend Stan's tire sealant. You can add it to a regular tube or can go all out and run tubeless. Here is a video showing how good it works:)
  10. I have a fit as well and my frame fits in my car with the back seats folded down without having to disassemble. I have a yakima rack, but have never tried to get it on the roof. Didn't answer your question, however just wanted to share what I do:)
  11. Great post. Some excellent info there:)
  12. Thanks everyone, I think I am going to stick with regular gpx.
  13. Hello Everyone, Looking for a new line for my 6 wt z-axis. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new scientific anglers textured line. I am wondering if this is all marketing or if the line will actually shoot better and last longer. I previously had regular gpx, however I am interested to hear what others would suggest.
  14. The book you bought is a great start. It's great to look at the patterns on top and reference the techniques on the bottom. I really like it.
  15. I would like to add my thanks as well. I stop in a couple times a day to the forum, and have learned a lot:)

    My 2011

    Awesome pics:)
  17. I use to have a garmin Oregon 450 before by car was broken into. Great unit and I really liked having the touch screen. I would suggest checking out GPS city in town. Their prices were great and the people were very helpful.
  18. These boots really intrigue me. I tried a variety of boots out last year, and had fit issues with the Simms and korkers. The Simms fit really wide and the korkers had pressure points. Fit is subjective however, I ended up with river walkers because the rock grips were on back order. My river walkers have held up really well, and they are really easy to get into and out of. I would image other Patagonia boots would be the same ( and if not they have an excellent warranty)
  19. I have a Honda Fit. Awesome gas mileage (5.4L/100km) and I can haul my pontoon frame around in the car without disassembly. My wife and I both have fits, and will need to get trade one in for something bigger in a few years. However we both really like our cars and I am going to drive mine until it dies.
  20. That was great, thanks for sharing:)
  21. Check out this weeks Best Buy and Future Shop flyers. Both stores have several laptops under $500, with either dual core or quad core processors, 4-8GB of RAM and hardrives over 500GB. Its amazing what you can get for $500 bucks now:)
  22. It doesn't look as easy as it use to be... Check it out here with video
  23. If you own a mac, the tools in iLife are really powerful and included in the system. iMovie and iPhoto are very intuitive programs and easy for the beginner to learn. I haven't owned a pc in a few years (windows xp) and I am not sure what is included with new windows 7 systems. If you want to step it up to the next level, adobe premier and photoshop are some of the industry standards, however they are really pricy. You could buy a cheap mac (used) for the price of some of these suites. However I don't think that this is what you are looking for. Hopefully some pc users will chime in and give other options:) I think that most people are using hero/ go pro cams to shoot video now. Also a lot of the newer waterproof cameras can also shoot high quality video.
