  1. I wonder what would happen if I hit a deer while riding my bike. Who'd give me odds that I would win? Not me.
  2. Costa Rica. I will be there around that time and can amuse your wife while you fish. I don't promise to return her in sober condition though.
  3. This is interesting....and timely because I'm about to give up my 2WD vehicle for a 4WD one and thought that 4WD was the same as AWD. So....if you're using the vehicle just for driving in the city and want the 4WD or AWD mostly for winter driving comfort is it going to give me the same piece of mind with AWD vs 4WD? The vehicle I want is marked as AWD and I'd hate to have to go to something else, but will if I can't get the benefits of a 4WD for winter driving.
  4. I'm about to build year 2 of a vertical wine cellar. If you've personally built one, I'd like to talk to you - have a few questions and need some advice. TX!
  5. Best BBQ rib recipe ever: Side ribs Foil pan Bag of onions Dry rub of onion powder, garlic powder, fresh ground black pepper Slice all onions and put in bottom of foil pan Put ribs with rub on top BBQ at 250 for 4 hours (or until cooked - depends on how many ribs you have) Remove ribs from pan, let cool to room temp Make this Jack Daniel's rib sauce: /4 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce ½ cup ketchup ½ cup pineapple juice 1 teaspoon ginger powder 1/3 cup papaya fruit minced then fried in two tablespoon olive oil to soften it a little. 1/8 teaspoon Chipotle Chili Pepper Powder (Chipotle add’s a smoked flavor and is spicy hot.) 4 tablespoon honey 2 tablespoon Plum sauce. Subsitutes; 2 tablespoon duck sauce or 1-1/2 tablespoon Welch’s or Smucker’s grape jelly. Juice of 1 wedge of fresh Lime 1 cup brown sugar (brown sugar contains molasses.) Pinch of garlic powder Water to thin as needed Method Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer and stir until well blended, about 10 minutes. Let finished sauce cool until just warm before pouring into a well washed GLASS JAR; closed tightly with a lid. Refrigerate overnight to age. Next day stir and brush some sauce over ribs/meats/poulty after they are nearly cooked (sauce will blacken and burn if you add it too soon.) Use the rest of the sauce to serve each person a dip-on-the-side. Put ribs on BBQ on low heat (just to reheat) and SMOTHER them in this sauce. Once you're done drooling, eat them....with cornbread and cole slaw and home made beans if you've got a rockin' bean pot. I guarantee if you cook them this way, no matter the cut of ribs, they will fall right off the bone.
  6. Oh...and back to the subject at hand....saw some of the pics on FB Rick. Not sure but did Jackie have at least one glass of wine at all during the whole deal? Glad it went so well and y'all had a good time - I know how much you were looking forward to it.
  7. Huh....I didn't know they still published that. I'm available for proofreading before you submit your fine piece of writing
  8. I'm taking every opportunity presented to me today to use the liver/anus line. That's a big win there buddy lol
  9. Mike bequeathed me a lake fly collection of well over 700 flies. Pretty good considering I don't like fishing lakes. Feel free to start your addiction by stopping by my garage sometime lol
  10. Thanks Dube....I will have to take out a permit, so I might as well use their expertise and knowledge with this - never even thought of it.
  11. Looking at taking down a load bearing wall and getting it reinforced to join 2 rooms. I think it's a structural engineer I need to tell me what I'd be looking at. Prefer to talk to someone that you've used or know well - kinda like my house standing and I need to be able to trust their advice. Thanks.
  12. That's what I smelled this morning. Wicked.
  13. Not a good idea to mention cats, bags, rocks and lakes to Dave. You're giving him ideas. Ideas he's probably already had anyways.
  14. I wish I'd not sold my Fishcat last summer...could really use it now. Am going to buy the same, or very similar - it was worth the $$.
  15. Thanks for the info. But as it turns out it was a nationwide Shaw issue that was resolved yesterday. I'm really regretting switching to them lately.
  16. Wow...she makes me wanna love women.
  17. OK...well it is...but it's an old Twitter pic. An awful one. She's a good lawyer - you're not hiring her for her good looks. Unless you're shallow like Dave.
  18. Chris....bad boy. That's NOT Allison.
  19. Wow...before I read this thread right through I was kinda worried for a minute.
  20. Don't listen to Dave. She isn't hot. Alison Sobol, Foothills Law - very very reasonable and she's a mobile lawyer out of McKenzie Towne. She's awesome, knows her stuff and is kinda pretty too. Mike used her for his house closing, I used her for Mike's estate completion and the sale of his house. And I'll use her again. Very flexible with dates/times because she will come to you wherever you are.
  21. Thanks....by "receiver" do you mean the Denon I run everything through or the Shaw cable box receiver? And this is a new problem...I've rented 2 other movies in the past in the same manner and never had this issue before....
  22. I rented a movie from Shaw VOD the other day and every 5 seconds it would go black and then back on. I kept getting the message "lost HDCP Connection, trying to re-establish connection". I googled this and I understand about the whole thing with the HDMI cable/technology/piracy thing - but I can't quite believe that Shaw would put a pirated copy of this movie on for purchase. The problem went away when I re-routed my HDMI cable from my receiver directly into my cable box (but losing surround sound, so that's not the answer). Anyone have this issue? Or should I call Shaw? My TV, receiver and sound system and HDMI cable are brand new so I know it's not an equipment issue (January 2011), so I'm thinking it's a Shaw problem?
  23. Talked to Leslie this morning - all paid up.
  24. I'm not having any luck either...sheesh....imagine not having someone to take a call where somebody wants to give them money.
  25. That's what he said. No it didn't. You're still whipt.
