wow can't image a run like that...............40000 fish in our biggest river is a huge year............@ 1500 fish a day through the counter we think the river in chinched. Nice to see a big return after some slim years.

Got a couple young boys (5 & 7), that I am looking to outfit in waders. I would prefer something in Neo and bootfoot, due to cost and durability. Althou they might wear them out fishing with me, they will be mostly for playing in the water catching crabs, minnows, and whatnot. I did find some from a US company wondering if anyone know of something a little closer to home. Thanks

I'm guessing the reason they won't do it is because their trucks do not have the abilty to dump over a 6' high fence. Even "stone slingers" (conveyor type unloading) will not be able to do this. Even if they could the weight of a load of gravel would probably push you fence down.

It won't prevent it, but Dad soaks his foot in a epsom salt bath, hot as you can stand, hes says it releaves the pain. Hope it helps for you.

A Hundy or so when I fishing for Salmon, A million or so when I’m chasing trout. I'll agree on the stillwater fishing, I've added 3 more boxes of chronies, leaches & Damsels/Dragons for this summer.

Will time has come that I'm heading back home, as my contract has expired in Calgary and a new one is set to start in St. John's. I've had great time in Alberta, fishing the Bow and Crowsnest River, with serveral perfect days spent on the water. Met some great people on the river and in fly shops during my time hear. Tryed new methods of fishing and became comfortable fishing much bigger water that I've been use to. Tryed a couple new things such as the two handed rod and tying tube flys, of which I can't wait to try home this year for the grilse run. Big thanks to "Maxwell" for getting me straighten out on my first day on the Bow, which gave me a chance to enjoy my time on the river. Folks at Fish Tales and Troutfitters have been great with all sort of advise. Thanks to "Headscan" for the two handed rod, "Dryfly" for river info and to everyone else for offers to fish with and for all the info on this board that expediated the learning curve a million fold, thanks "SJW". I think I had my final day on the Bow Satuday past, don't think I could ever top it, so why ruin what could be my final impression. I hope to be back on warmers days, to fish dry fly to big fish, and try some of those mountain streams for cutties and bulls. Untill then.............................

I'm gonna get torched for this, but, how do guy figure you deserve to have a whole stream (one way)to yourself, even if you were first there. Sure If i was the second guy there and you were going up I would go the other way, but what about the next guy. At the very least a leap frog system would be the best you could hope for, or you give the run you're fishing to the new guy and head up or down stream.

I had a go with the stillwater WW 510 (EXPO)and was very impressed, I would include the WW in your test drive, you will be glad you did.

Having over stayed what was intended, I'm looking at my fly boxes, thinking I'm a little short as the weather is starting to warm. Seems like I was stocked pretty good over the winter months, with SJW, leechs, blood worms, CJ, GRHE, PT, prince & EW. I don't go all out when it come to tying, just looking for a few patterns & sizes to add for the upcoming month or two. Any ideas?

yup that be it, just a traped line, it can also be backed off so you don't cutting the tip of your fly line. Also just a double overhand knot can be used, one at the end of the fly line (so it won't pull through)and then another through the leader loop, use to use this for tying hooks on cod trawls, but also works for this application as well, knots should be as close together as possible.

I just use a flag knot into the premade leader loop, it doesn't get any ezy than that.

I used a washed out passport and work ptmit for the best part of as year, travelling every two weeks with no problems.

Looking good. I picked up a pack of tubes and an adapter last weekend and started to tie up a couple myself, Collie dogs and some shirmp pats...........unfornutly my waterproof camera isn't so waterproof, 3 ft of water must of blew the seals.

I had problems on the first few I spun with ultra size small. If your doing them by hand releive the tension on the wire as you spin, the twisting of wire causes the length to shorten and will break if tension is not relieved. If you're doing them with some fancy tool, maybe someone else will chime in.

Do I hear a tube tying demo in the future.....................
