Dang that red bead rocks that fly. The black one wants more marabou though. Don't be afraid to strap on lots of marabou.
  3. My smallest nymphs are normally 14's, with the odd 16 thrown in. I've never had the need for anything smaller. I'm sure one day I will, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
  4. If he's not, we're gonna start calling him brokebackbrent
  5. Bobber fishing is still bobber fishing, whether or not you're using a steelhead rod Nice stick, let us know how she performs
  6. Well that sounds like garbage to me. if you read through the post of weedy's on the BC board, you'll understand where I'm coming from. They are PART of the fly, and not external. Look for that rule to be changed in the near future. I suggest to anyone who is goig to be using dumbbels in BC that if you get charged for it, you would be well to take it to court. as there is NO MENTION of dumbbell eyes in ANY part of the BC regulation. They are tied as part of an artificial fly and are not considered external weights. Any CO who interprets dumbbell eyes as 'external weight' should be fired on the spot.
  7. Are you kidding? Fly fishing is just a more effective means of poaching. The traditional high cost associated with it used to deter the usual weekend warrior poacher crowd. But now that you can successfully flyfish with a $100 setup, it's WAY easier to get into it. I've seen a hell of an explosion in flyfishing in recent years, and not all of it for the better!

Well I was gonna suggest everything you did to the re-tie so you got it! Now play with colours. Black with some red is always killer
  9. There are some goofy ones, but I bet for 2008 you will see some major changes towards simplification. It's been talked about for a while now as part of this angler recruitment and retention strategy. At any rate, it's all in the regs. I could say the same things about some spots in Alberta
  10. Interesting thread weedy. I missed that one. Looks like our definition needs changing.....
  11. ONE FOR THREEEEEEE FREEEEEEE COFFEEEEEEEEEEE YAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!1
  12. Yes, you can use dumbbell eyes on a fly in BC. Make sure you know which regulation you have to follow, whether it be "Fly fishing only" or "Artificial fly only" Most steel rivers are fly fish only I believe Missin, I'd like to know who in creation told you that having eyes on a fly is illegal. Cause if it is, it's NEVER EVER been enforced.
  13. If they waive and get traded, that ain't doin the team much good
  14. The Leafs have the guns to do well in the east. They just can't seem to fire on all cylinders. I don't think trading anyone would have helped anything.

    Sink Tip

When I bought my 8wt second hand it came with custom heads. A 5' mini, 10' T4, 10' T8, 10' T14 and the original floating tip. It SEEMS fairly easy to make one's own tips....I may experiment, but really, the setup I have will cover all the water I'll ever fish. Still learning this shooting head thing.
  16. Hell yeah! Weedy the trick is to pound back the coffee, and chase it with an energy drink. I'm partial to Sobe Arush. Ahhhhhhhh 8am biostats labs
