They aren't the weak warmwater fish everyone thinks they are, that's for sure. The fish in that pic is huuuuge! That would beat hooking a 20" trout all to hell!!

Awesome. My 5wt St Croix has seen six years of hard use on everything from pink and chum salmon on the coast to bull trout and cutties in mountain streams to monster triploid rainbows in the Cariboo and Alberta brown trout streams, and she's never come close to failing. The only downside to St Croix rods is that they stopped with their unlimited lifetime warranty afew years ago. I'll never understand that move.

Doesn't tie worth a damn, half the tensile strength of Maxima, doesn't fish any better. I personally think flouro is a gimmick. I see no real improvement in catch rate when using the stuff, and I go through a *hit-ton of leader. Barring some unfathomable change in design, I will use Maxima Ultragreen until the day I hang up my rods (ie: die)
