  1. The banks of the Bow worked well for my girl friend and I a few weekends ago... But it's not about the "catching" it's about spending time together!! P
  2. So I was at the airport yesterday and I on the baggage carrousel there was a Louis Vuitton rod tube! That's just WAY too much!! P
  3. So I says to her, I says... Honey, it's way to nice out to sit inside and watch TV tonight... Let's go fishing (and she said, sure!!). So my girlfriend (Deb) caught her first Bow river brown down at Fish Creek tonight (2nd fish ever on the fly!). (She was having trouble holding it so we put it on the grass for a total of 5 seconds - before any of you say anything)... She wants to go again!! Yeehaw!! P
  4. I use all three and in the summer quite possibly all at the same time (with the backpack on the bank). For my chest packs, I've put a plastic grommet on the neck strap so I can attach my net's carabiner (also use a magnetic keeper). In the "off season" (late fall, winter, early spring) I just use the chest pack and back pack (food, coffee, extra clothes, etc.) P
  5. Rich, Roger that! Canyon Creek is downstream of Elbow Falls and Upstream of Bragg Creek! P
  6. I've mentioned this before... A buddy looked at them last year and the pair he tried on had 2 left feet... Nuff said!! P

    New Camera's

Great shots Gary! What camera did you buy?! Peter
  8. I think most of their Pati stuff is 50% but just give Brent or Kevin a call (and make sure you ask him about my % of the commission ) NOt sure if it's listed on the website - I know Brent was working on that recently... Also Patagonia website had them on sale, as well! P *Edit* Just checked the BRTF website and they list "select" Deep Wading Jackets @ 50% off! ALso checked the patagonia website and they only have smalls & larges left for US$120 - if you have someone in the US you can send it to, they can intern send it "as a gift" to you... Or you can just pay the gst, duty & brokerage...
  9. Bowriver Troutfitters has patagonia Deep Wading jackets on sales!! See the link Headscan listed... P
  10. Check out this interesting link... http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=15296 And this factoid: The Glenmore Reservoir doesn't give up many big trout, but every now and then it delivers a dandy. Way back in 1983, a 13-year-old using eight-pound-test line landed a brown weighing almost 14 pounds. It's believed to be Calgary's largest-ever angler-caught trout.
  11. Steeple (or tower) cast http://www.sexyloops.com/flycasting/tsteeple.shtml P
  12. Saw a photo of a Rainbow and a bunch of browns taken outta there recently... And I've only caught Pike... So it is fishable! P
  13. The weather doesn't get any better than this... Unfortunately, the water was up about 3' from last week, so fishing wasn't great...
  14. I know there is one for AB lakes (though i can't remember the name of it) that provide contours. For rivers yu could try google earth... Peter
  15. Yuck!
  16. So my girlfriend's brother-in-law's brother took over the Lodge this year and we're heading out in July... Has anybody been? The descriptions sound pretty good! http://www.thuyalakes.com/ Peter
  17. Beauties!! Good on ya! P
  18. Yeah Gary and Donna at Alpine are the best!! P
  19. I have the opposite foot issue and have a really narrow foot (BB)!! I went with Dunham and will never look back. I know they make the waffle stomper in EEE. I'm not sure if New Balance makes the Waffle Stomper anymore, but there should be a few shops that still have them in calgary or online! Get the red carbon Fiber ones if you can! And cost is pretty good, also! Good luck! P
  20. And one more: This was the big boy, so big in fact I could hardly hold it (net opening is 18")!!
  21. More photos:
  22. Had a great B-day with Colin (CDone). Caught a swack of BIG Bullies (thanks for the beta GGP & BBB). One 30"+ took me to my backing, not once but twice (first time EVER!!). Did 4000% better then on holiday Monday! Nice to meet you Bob (guy from NY State), glad you were able to finally hook-up. Thanks again Colin! Cheers! Peter
