I don't see a problem with parking on the bar or launching boats. But just 4 wheelin in the water is an issue. Let's dredge out river bed and then disguise it as shallow water for the next truck that drives in. Nothing too deep to harm anyone. Just enough to get the truck stuck...lol

I was spending days and weeks out in the bush when I was 14. I agree with PGK. But I also grew up doing this stuff with various members of my family. If a 40 minute walk out of the bush is a long walk, you might not be ready yet....lol...good luck with the parents.

I got one apart that had been stuck together for a couple of years, and a number of people had tried pulling it apart. I froze the inside blank, figuring it might contract just a tad, and sure enough, it worked. Or maybe it was just that the last person that had tried had loosened it up just enough. Good luck.

What is there to clean up? They should definitely not be leaving any partially burned garbage around. But the ashes should be ok. It should just be properly extinguished before they leave. And with the fire ban now, any fire is a no no. I can't even barbecue this weekend in my backyard. Have to go get a gas bbcue I guess....

Yes, you can win the battle, even if you have neighbors that like dandelions. Get on it right away and don't let up. The healtheir your lawn is, the more it will choke out the dandelions. I like to fertilize every 4 to 6 weeks. And I don't cut the grass too short. I pull all the dandelions as soon as I see them pop out.

Tungsten, If that is your first one, you are doing a great job. Seems like you are doing it very efficiently with a minimum number of hours too. Are you keeping track of how many hours it is taking you? Did you put glass over the entire bottom? If so, what is that line about 4" from the chines around the bottom? Also, did you think about not putting keels on at all? I could see those being kind of annoying in a shallow riffle on a river. Although nice on stillwater.

I have inner tubed on many rivers...its what we used to do all summer long when I was a kid on the coastal rivers...some of them with some pretty good whitewater...way more sketchy than the Bow. I always laid on it like Rickr described...or on my belly. Sure wouldn't go down those rivers in a belly boat though.

what is the difference between a float tube and a belly boat? If I tried to sit on top of an innertube, with my feet through the hole, my fat *** would flip it right over, so having a hard time picturing what you mean.

A float tube is not the same as floating on an inner tube. With an inner tube, you can simply roll off and swim or whatever you want to do. With a float tube, you are kind of trapped in the seat, with your legs hanging vertically. If your feet were to become trapped, you would be in trouble, as it would be hard to get out of the seat with the water pressure pushing the tube downstream.

How long and what brand of drifter you have? Those oars are probably too short. For a 14' drift boat, you need about 8.5' oars. You will want metal/brass oarlocks that your oars will slip back and forth in. The clamp or fixed style are fine for lakes, but on a river, even a slow one, they could get you in trouble. It sucks to have to by oars for a drift boat, as they aren't cheap. A new pair of cataracts or sawyers will run you around $500. I have a short set of wood sawyers that I would consider selling if you have trouble finding some down there. I have fixed up a couple of drift boats. Would be glad to help you out if you have any questions. Is it wood, glass, or aluminum? I would recommend make some oar-lock sockets out of some type of hard polycarbonate plastic. If you made some new ones out of a good hardwood or teak, that would probably work too.
