When I worked on a station in Australia they had fences with the wires run through the middle of the post, seems Mother Nature had a similar idea.

As for calling someone an ***hole, whether they attribute the word to themself or not, is an insult. As for my post being threatening, not so much. What your comprehension of it is/was is obviously a bit skewed, given the way you've been going off in this thread. You seem a little worked up. The statement "Deal with the consequences" is meant in the way that, if you have the courage to call someone an ***hole, to their face, and things go south as a result, one had best be prepared to deal with the aftermath. Understand? But since you seem to lack comprehension skills, I'll attribute your little rage here to that. I'm certainly not 10 feet tall and bulletproof, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't need to be either...

There's what, 2000 people on this site? A couple bonked fish per, a week, hmmm. Adds up, no? A released fish quite often isn't a dead one I'm sure. You haven't been here long I take it. You'll have your work cut out for you I think if this is your reaction every time fish handling comes up. I'd call that "running one's mouth kinda reckless". Comments like that, to me, are best kept for a face to face meeting, with the realization that one best be prepared to deal with the consequences. At least that's the way I grew up..

Just 3/4 " plywood and 2 x 4's. Cut to match the shape of the front, 2 x 4's for support underneath. Got some outdoor carpet for it, but haven't put it on yet. Kinda slapped together but it works well. I'm kinda tall at 6'3", and about 210, so it gets a bit scary if you move too quick. No issues casting out of it though, need to head to Bullshead some day with it. With Lorne and I we both cast at the same time, no problem. Anchor both ends, good to go. May build some braces to lean on for casting, just need to plan it in my head and get the welder fired up. Lorne's electric motor powers it no problem, but a high wind kinda makes for tough going.

Got a 1432 recently. With a deck in the front and back works pretty good. Lorne and I have tried it out a few times. I can haul it to and from the water solo, electric motor, works awesome. With he and I was a bit tippy before the decks, but haven't fallen out of it yet. Pretty happy with where it's gotten us.

Nothing like "Could you please remove this tick from my gooch" to break the ice with a roommate I guess.. Lol.

Initially, they're small and slow moving. As they feed, they swell many times their initial body size, almost unbelievably so actually. Feels like a smooth, Corn Nuts shaped thing on the dog. Can't miss them.

On a dog, minor. Myself, I'd probably exercise caution. I've never had one get attached in all my years, thankfully. Nothing more disgusting than touching a swollen up tick. Seen horses thick with them, pictures of moose so infested they numbered in the thousands.. Gross.

When I was younger and our dogs would get them, we'd cover the tick's body in Vaseline, they fell off within a day usually. The ticks breathe through holes on the sides of their body, the Vaseline would suffocate them. No worries about mouth parts left for infection. As for on myself, I've had as many as 3 in my clothes at the end of the day. Never had one get ahold, luckily. Lyme disease is pretty nasty from what I understand. Tall grass is just as bad as willows or brush for holding them in my experience. The Red Deer river valley, in the grass, is thick with them.
