  1. I guess it could - but only if you live in a vacuum
  2. I'm in - missed out last year and look forward to this time. Thanks for organizing this iceman!
  3. I hope that everyone down there is safe and minimal damage occurs.
  4. Unreal pic's. I think what ever tippet is used the right thing to do would be give your ass a haircut and release you... Where did you get the quote from Bob?
  5. Elbow River in Red Wood Meadows had some log jams I remember being pretty good for Brook trout... Also up around the Bragg Creek Provincial Park and a small stream that's crossed by the West Bragg Creek road I think but it's been a few years... Nothing huge but lots of fun
  6. I'm stoked about the Bertuzzi and Calamari acquisitions. I think Bert will fit in a little better in Calgary and hope the back stays fine. Calamari is fast and seems to have the ability to actually know when to shot the puck vs pass pass pass
  7. www.fark.com a collection of beautiful news clippings and comments from around
  8. That's a good question. Why should we manipulate nature for the inability of some to follow the rules? Could be a short-term solution... That being said, from what I've seen of the Elbow there are a number of good wintering holes and we need put and take/easy access opportunities for anglers close to Calgary. Did allen Bill arise from the building of highway 66?
  9. Maybe check Quarry Pond for the Grayling, it's by the Nordic Centre in Canmore. If you don't get any fish there's usually lots of bikini's around. For pike, if you aren't targeting trophies, you might get one from the Elbow in town or try at Glenmore Reservoir. As far as the Bull Trout goes head out to pretty much any Eastern Slope stream.
  10. We use this stuff called Cutter out of the States, I think it's along the lines of the skin so Soft being pretty effective and won't give you a headache or eat through your flyline.
  11. I think this is a great idea, do you think they would do both Forget me not and Allen Bill?
  12. Nice fish, those gotta put up a fight! Were you fishing chronamids for them?
  13. Yeah the ocean is definitely a different game then any waterbody around Calgary as far as harvesting fish goes. I was in S.C. a little while ago and was surprised by all of the fish consumption warnings, guess it goes hand in hand with the industrial development. Rickr are there any consumption warnings in the Bay?
  14. Sweet report, sounds like a great trip. Any chance those topwater fish were on the flyrod!?
  15. Sounds like a good adventure. Sweet photos.
  16. Congrats, enjoy the fruits of your labours!
  17. How is it that tripolids are made again - is it radiation that's used to sterilize them? Would it be possible for a small percentage to remain reproductive? Nice fish by the way!
  18. Made it out there yesterday for the first time with SteveMurphy and had a blast. Things started off well for both of us and he kept nailing them after things cooled off for me with some secret fly he wouldnèt even let me see . Called it the twister or something... Things picked back up for me later and we caught a good variety of fish but nothing massive. Wind co-operated and the cloud cover picked up the bite nicely. Beautiful country around there. Thanks to everyone who helped make this fishery happen!
  19. I remember dragging my fishing gear every where my family went until I noticed girls. Got back into it a little after high school. I think it`s great that so many teenagers are into ffishing anf on here.
  20. Matt, I`ve been flyfishing a little while and find that the best way for me not to get my backcast caught in the grass is to stand on a ladder... Seriously though I think the easiest solution is to hold your arm higher while casting or maybe a rollcast, there`s probably a technical way to adjust the overhand cast as well but I don`t know it. Enjoy the fishing
