  1. Buy top of the line Simms and replace them every couple of yrs of fishin' days. I own and still use a pair of early Freestones that probably got a 1000 walkin' days
  2. Glad you cleared that up. For awhile there I thought BBT was sneakin' south off the Highwood again.
  3. So how's the box workin' as a hat Peter or is it sized too big??
  4. Good deal Peter grab it. XP is more like what you're lookin' for, way softer in the tip than the TCR or even my RPL+s
  5. Jeez Brunsie gimme some frickin' credit would ya, it wasn't the rod I bought offa you, was a 4 piece 4, split it in half, threw it in the back seat of my truck and moved over 30 km of loggin' road...dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.......... Thank gawd Sage stands by their product even rods long out of production
  6. I've fished it and the thing is an effin' cannon, like lay out a big heavy woolly bugger, the whole line and 20-30' backing type of rod. It's very unforgiving if your castin' is not up to snuff. Don't worry about the warranty on a used Sage though. I did something stupid and broke the tip on a RPL+ that I bought used. I phoned the repair department @ Sage to see if I could beg borrow or steal a new tip blank and they told me not to worry about it, just send in the rod and $50, they'd repair it.
  7. It's berry time boyz, keep your head up, the bears in the berry patches. I scared the livin' crap out of a little black this mornin' whilst walkin' the dogs, He was busy fillin' his face in a saskatoon patch and didn't see me until I hollered @ him. He kinda shotgunned saskatoon seeds all over his flight path leavin'. Pay attention while you're fishin'!
  8. Well hello Lee! How's it goin'? Aren't those Stewardship Licenses creek specific or do they specify an entire drainage or part of the Province you can harvest in ? I was under the impression they were creek specific and as such never bothered. My usual fishin' grounds doesn't have a brookie problem that I'm aware of. The Castle and the Crow do and the creek I was referring to is in your neck of the woods.
  9. Whadda think ....them purdy little char that are half head. Don't worry, I turned them all respectfully loose, I couldn't bring myself to chuck'm in the bush but it wouldn't hurt my feelings to bring a couple dozen home for supper
  10. I strongly believe that to truly protect native species in many their remaining watersheds what's needed is a MUST KILL regulation. You catch a invasive or a hybrid you have to by law kill it. I can hear the howls now, " What about the people who can't tell a walleye from an bull trout?" Well, in reality that's just an enforcement issue, more COs on the ground and in all honesty a few dead natives will cause a helluva lot less impact than hordes of brookies, cuttbows, mongrelized rainbows and brown trout will. Whats the answer? I don't know... special license where you have to pass an ID test if you want to fish streams containing native sport fish??? I spent Wednesday fishing a stream that used to have cutthroat and brook trout 10-15 yrs ago. I fished 5 km up the valley and never saw a single frickin' cutt and it pisses me off immensely.
  11. C&R zealots who treat c&r as a religious conviction should all be drowned.
  12. LOL Back in the olden days I was required to get a guide license from the Warden Service in BNP. The Deputy Chief Warden administered the oral test and his last questions was; "How do you tell the difference between a black bear and a grizzly?" I went the standard spiel, differences in hair coat, claw/foot print, dish face, hump etc. "Na" said the DCW "when Mr Bear chases you up a tree, a black will climb the tree and bite you on the ass. A grizzly will just push the tree over and then bite you on the ass....... you pass."
  13. I myself like rum too but I belong to the free and here school of booze consumption, bacardi coke pressed is good enough for me
  14. I'm hiding from 5 1/2 yds of top soil some frickin' trucker dumped in my driveway and found this Taimen

  16. You should see'm howling about rights and Government interference in said rights over on the hunting board. One hotshot even compared the Government proposed amendments to Nazi Germany. Abuse It Lose It.
  17. Where'd y'all find the high horse Paul? [insert the pokey sticky thingy here/]
  18. The bridge is for Spray Lakes logging access to Hidden Ck. The cut in the bank you noticed is the old access road into Hidden and has been there from before 1968 when I started to fish and hunt the upper OM Drainage.
  19. I had 3 pair of the cheapassed crap fins before I bought a pair of Forcefins. Day and night difference in quality and ease of use. Shoulda saved my money and bought a set of forcefins in the first place because as far as I'm concerned they ended up costing me double the purchase price. Make sure you buy and use a set of retaining straps also
  20. And people wonder why I refuse to fish/use the effin bow, if I want to get aggravated durin' my relax time I'd take up gawddamned golf.
  21. Did he give you a funny look when you offered to drown his sorry ass????
  22. Meh, @ your age the first 1's better'n the last 2 anywho
  23. and if y'all ain't been fissin' I hope y'all are @ least gettin' drunk and maybe lucky
  24. 10 huh? NFW he's such a juvenile wildman with delete and lock button. Happy burfday Chris, when you takin' me fissin'?
