  1. I'll take it. Just so someone else doesn't get it.
  2. Nice pics - good to hear you had a really nice time. I often fish in much the same get-up as you did in the pics, sometimes it really beats all the waders/vesst/pack etc. Cute kids!
  3. At least you didn't admit to eating it!
  4. I know, that's why I thought this thread would be so funny. Besides, with waders & a shirt on nodoby will recognize you on the water anyhow! Max, you probly got the best FFing-farmer tan of all, hands down. Gonna start callin' you ol' Coon eyes.
  5. Aw c'mon, there's gotta be a couple more brave souls out there. After all, we work pretty hard for those tan lines!
  6. Last seen departing the Ranchmans in a tricked-out Honda Civic with a boom box, reported to be heading SE.
  7. That is a stunning place, with equally stunning fish! Thanks for the report & great pics!
  8. They just need to rattle a can of Pounce treats - my cats come running from anywhere when I do that.
  9. Sorry Trailhead, I didn't realize I practically repeated your post.
  10. Great report & pics Harry. Nice to know it's doable, and those lovely goldens are doing well there.
  11. Excellent fishing both N & S, but to break the deadlock I will vote you go North again.
  12. Good to hear you're ok Pipe, I can't say I'd be back there soon.
  13. FYI, that gut is bought & paid for. If I had more money it'd be bigger.
  14. Oh SJW, you gotta post a pic of that. With appropriate warnings, of course. I will try to enable a 'zoom' feature on my monitor.
  15. C'mon BBT, you can tell I don't wear a wife-beater 'cause of the tan lines. The hair remains a mystery though........mmwwwwaaaaahahahaha.
  16. Chicken...........bok bokbokbok. (That's chicken sound)
  17. Here I am depicted ready for a day on the water. This belongs in some kind of calendar! I can't wait to hear suggestions as to what type of calendar though........ C'mon you dedicated fly fishers, let's see what ya got!
  18. I would have to say go north, as there's so much good water there, and less folks fishing it than south. You can always stock-up & gas in Caroline or Rocky, or further north if you want. I want to fish north myself soon. You've already fished south, so there's a motivator for new water. Re-read Barry Mitchell's book for added info.
  19. I saw 3 black bears on the road at both upper & lower K yesterday, they're really out there. Seen a few griz on the #40 also recently. Bear spray is a must I'd say. Cougars are what really scare me though. I know how sneaky my own cats are, thank the lord they're not big enough to eat me.
  20. OMG Rusty, that is friggin' unreal. How did it taste? As good as bull trout burgers at Dave's? That is a crazy pike. Imagine how many trout that guy has eaten. Nice fish Esleech, those lake whites can be a lot of fun.
  21. Excellent story & fish! Cool beetle also. The cutts are amazing in the Elk. You'll have to probably buddy-up with some BC FFers to get to your fabled creek..........or just keep hunting (but at $20 a day, I'd try the former)
  22. In a "No-Parking" zone?
  23. Nice Kitty.......
  24. Honestly, I tries cat leeching as it has worked so well for me at home, so I gave it a try at the first likely looking spot to me on that lake (where I am in the pics) & within 5 minutes, whamm-o! That smallie fought like you wouldn't believe, and the aerials were nothing short of the best Bow Rainbow. Truly a huge blast on a 5wt, and a 4wt would have been even more fun. I had to keep moving looking for spots where the lake went from shallow to deep, & each place I tried like that I got a fish on, if not to net. It was tough fishing such unfamiliar water without any guidance at all, but it does show that even when you apply some lessons from home, it sometimes works. I undoubtedly would have caught tons more fish if I had hired a guide, but I didn't have the time nor the fixed schedule so I just went out when I could. It was quite rewarding to catch some fish both in rivers & lakes despite haveing no guidance. In the end, I would happily fly fish for smallies any day! They are not only agressive, but they fight pound for pound as good as any trout (that I have caught so far). Thanks for all the nice comments from you all, I took a lot of those photos (had my GF take them, that is) so I could show you all what it's like out there.
  25. Ya, there's browns in the Pleasant from what I was told, although I didn't get any. They stock a LOT of browns there (Maine) for put & take as they fare better in the warm water. I confimed this with a CO when I got checked. He was real nice & informative too. Pacres, you're probably right on the Bluegill call, my GF always called them Pumkin Seeds growing up, so that's what I thought it was. It actually does look more like a Bluegill now that you called it. Fun little guys as they hit dries skittered on the surface (wouldn't touch it still) but not much fight (or hookset, obviouslyt). Still, for me it is always a thrill to catch a new species & learn some of their intricacies. I included river & bug shots as I thought some would find that of interest. Not too many fish pics though!
