  1. Way to go! Nice fish, and great pics. Yes, those are more like 'Deadliest Catch' crab-boat waders, but who cares when you're out getting fish like that! Good job, & nice to hear you're having fun.
  2. Gary, It sounds like you have a marvelous time - good to hear you got into lots of nice fish & had a lot of fun. Welcome home! (Great pics too)
  3. Turn on HWY 24 and head for the river. You go through 2 stop signs and turn right at the last house just before the dead-end. You will be on gravel once you go through the first stop sign. You will also have to cross a creek once you are at the bottom of the hill, but even most cars should make it through just fine. Have a great time!
  4. Wow, nice fish. That's one Jimmy Durante coho for sure!
  5. I've tried egg patterns many times with minimal success. It almost seems like you're lucky to get a fish on one.
  6. I can categorily disprove this about MTB, but I won't. Good luck today, guys.
  7. I'll tell you this, I'm not telling my mom about my shenanigans.
  8. I have definitely had surprises with fish caught, like when you expect a brown to be on your line by the way it fights only to find a rainbow. Also, I've caught a few browns (not many) that have done aerial like you'd expect from a rainbow, although ususally they aren't quite as 'energetic' in their air time. Once in a while you get a surprise fishing. I still get surprised that I actually caught a fish!
  9. I still do most of this stuff & I'm still here............for now. No More eating worms though. I discovered smoked fish tastes better.
  10. tree-fish are the real fighters AKA "Willow trout" or "Rocky Mountain Spruce Trout"
  11. Tricky to get to the other side, eh Esleech? Nice fish, I got a cutty up by Ghost dam tonight that surprised me - on the dry too. Lucky day. Good on ya for getting one out of there, I don't think it gets fished that much. Good show.
  12. Gordon, That's like saying "wow, you managed to date a pretty girl - stop now before it's too late, you'll never find another one like that", or how about "Now that you've had your first beer, forget about it - stop drinking beer now. It only tastes worse with time". Forget it, I'm already hooked. Pardon the pun.
  13. I've just got in my special 'Stocked Trout Pellet Flies". They won't stand a chance.
  14. 5wt Orvis that I've busted twice now. Catches lotsa fish & makes the big ones seem huge. And Lone Fisher's rod is actually a Fisher Price 6ft 10wt that his uncle got him for Christmas.
  15. Damn you Lone Fisher, Damn You!!!! I'm gonna help you clean that pond out of both of those stocked minnows if it takes us a week!
  16. Yer talkin' bikini weather bruthu. That's a thing of the past back home now. Moo.
  17. I'm using a blend of hickory & maple. I'm doing salmon, steelhead, rainbows & whitefish & trying some tuna steaks for the first time. We'll see how they turn out.
  18. My address is irrellevant as my cat will not let you near the fish anyhow.......but it's been on about 3 hours now. I can hardly wait.
  19. Had to fire-up the ol' smoker again, time for some fall yummy-goodness again! Man, I love that smell. Enjoy! My cat doesn't seem to mind being near a bunch of nice fish either.
  20. Here's my first fish on the 2 hander. I haven't cast it since being shown a bit by Toolman in July, so it was fun to try swinging again & got a big fish to show for it. What a good time! No jokes about it being a whitie.........
  21. I never thought I'd see the day when the loonie out-stripped the US megabuck. Last time this happened I think I was 3, and it didn't matter a whole lot at the time. I can remember vividly a few years ago paying 1.52 for parts from the US..........this feels wierd. I hope the US gov't doesn't come out with some story like we're making weapons of mass distruction in our igloos or anything! Rickr, put in a good word for us, will ya?
  22. Way to go Hawkeye! Nice job on getting into a few. Good that some advice from the board helped out too, I bet you'll be fishing the Bow like crazy from now on. You can still do quite well in the winter, so no hanging-up the fly rod for a while yet.
  23. Rickr, I was thinking about you today when my GF (who is from Maine) was telling me how much she likes living in Canada compared to the US. She got her Canadian citizenship a couple of years ago too, and it made me wonder how do you feel about living in Canada now compared to the US? What do you think are the pros & cons of living here compared to back home? Just wondering if more US folks who have come here feel the same way as my GF, or if she is more the exception to the majority.
  24. I'm pretty sure that's a dinosaur bone, H2O, not some Leoplurodon.
  25. Good job! Welcome to your new addiction - I'm sure you will see a number of us on the water sooner or later! Congrats on your success.
