McFly
Hey guys I rarely post anything on the site but always look to see what you guys are posting. It helps me get through the dismal amount of fishing that I do over here in Hungary. Anyway I had the opportunity on this past weekend to drive down to Slovenia and fish the Idrijdca river for two days. I can say it lived up to and even surpassed my expectations. The water is amazing and full of fish. The great thing is that you really have no idea what you will catch next. On my first day I had an all in day. I caught fish on nymphs streamers and even on dries, and on top of that caught every type of species in the river. The river hold Rainbows, Browns, Adriatic Grayling, Marbled Trout and even Marble Brown Hybrids. What a day. The next day I decided with my guide that I wanted to target big marbles in the morning. Around 2 30 I landed the big marbled in the pic. The rest of the day I just played around with my 3wht and got some small marbles, rainbows and Grayling. I recommend this trip to anyone who has a chance.

mkm
Killer pics...was it expensive to fish? What's the cost for a guide? I am thinking of taking some time during the summer of 2010 and doing a trip through europe and would love to catch a few trout. mkm

McFly
Glad you enjoyed the pics it was really a memorable time on the water. I was cool to see the huge fishing culture in that part of the world and compare techniques to ours at home in canada. It was expensive compared to at home since all parts of the river are owned by different clubs and depending on the beat you pay anywhere between 20 and 90 Euros just for the tickets. Then my guide was 185 per day. But well worth the trip. If someone is interested in the guides contact than just message me and I will let you know since I am not sure if its ok to post that here.
