I hooked a big one last year but the guide had a 3 foot steel leader for a 180 pound 7 foot long shark... Ops...I can hear the line snapping now. Blue sharks can put up a bit of a fight but the fight the salmon sharks gave us last fall was second to none. It was literally like that video of them dudes testing fly reels using a motorcycle. You can not stop them. Look up salmon shark fishing on youtube. Some really neat videos. They sometimes jump and are closely related to the Mako and Great White. They commercial fish them in the Atlantic but in the Pacific the Alaskan government is just starting to study them as a commercial fish. I will definitely try and take some video and pics.
