MattyTaylor Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Anyone have any insight of what would then go into lifting the fire ban? Hoping to get a late season camping weekend in. Quote
bcubed Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Anyone have any insight of what would then go into lifting the fire ban? Hoping to get a late season camping weekend in. rain. These last few days likely helped alot. It's all done through modelling (http://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/background/summary/fwi) and the moisture content through the area to determine the hazard levels Quote

MattyTaylor Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Interesting, thanks for the background on the fire rating science gents. Glad to hear the fire ban is lifted, I like my fishing buddies but they aren't cuddle worthy. Quote
longrodder Posted September 23, 2017 Author Posted September 23, 2017 Where does it say campfires our now allowed in campsites? Thanks for any info. Have annual cutty Classic/rumdrinking extravaganza planned for next weekend, and a real campfire is a total bonus. Quote
bigalcal Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Right here....fire "restriction"...so fires are allowed in fire rings at campgrounds. Don't steal the firewood I hid!!! https://albertafirebans.ca/ 1 Quote
