wegotobaemf Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Articulated or what are they tied on? They are tied on a 2/0 hook in the back, and 2 fish skull shanks. I believe they were 35 mm. Quote
bcubed Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Thompson never opened this fall. Thompson was open until Nov 1... Quote
FlyTrapper Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Using it on the Thompson? Unfortunately I never did get the chance to get it wet on the Thompson this year, but hopefully next year! Nick Quote
Dangus Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Thompson was open until Nov 1... It is every year. a fall opening is the November-on window. the question was also posed mid-November which made me think he thought it was open this year. Thanks though. Quote

Thanks though. Considering it used to close on October 1 just a couple years ago. Thanks though Quote
Dangus Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Thanks for the history lesson. What I meant was, the river is always regulated open to a certain point and then there is an in-season decision based on returns. Regardless, the discussion was taking place after November 1, and there was no steelhead opening. Hugs Quote
Dangus Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Ggp, you ever tie those in bow river sizes? I mean, for the hook gap. Has anyone here ever swung them on the bow? Quote
ggp Posted November 16, 2016 Author Posted November 16, 2016 Bron I have used some of my earlier flys on the Bow, K Lakes, and Bullshead, in each place they produced. I used some of my larger Spey flys on Vancouver Island this spring fishing for Small Mouth Bass, they were absolutely deadly. 1 Quote
FlyTrapper Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I know its not as cool as ggp's but I have had great success swinging Blue Charms on both a dry line and intermediate sink tip. Pretty cool you have used yours here ggp, would be pretty cool to get one on one of those. Nick 2 Quote

Wow Doc those are really nice, a lot nicer then mine. I usually tie them on a size 10 low water style hook, seems to work, do you fish them this big? Also what kind of hackle are you using it looks very nice. Nick Quote
