Pheasant Neck Feathers?

Hi all,

I had a co-worker bring me some Pheasant Tail feathers from his hunt the other day and with them he brought me some of the neck feathers (baggy full) I assume I will find a use for them, anyone already know a use or have experience with these feathers?

I have used pheasant feathers from my bird hunts for many years. There are a multitude of uses from nymphs like teeny flies, to streamers and dries. The pheasant feathers are so versatile, their use is only limited by your imagination.

If you imagination fails then perhaps some sort of imagination enhancer would be required.... happy tying.

With the very small, breast feathers, simply tie in by the tip and wrap a nice soft hackle at the head of the fly. I use a 16 or 14 hook and an olive body, it makes a credible caddis. For the bigger feathers do the same on a streamer hook. Look up a Carey Special. Honestly there are lots of uses.
