monger Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 First time to the beach on the east side of the Island. The streams are very low and warm this year and the salmon were not showing themselves. Finally a few fish showed up cruising off the beach and I was able to get a fly in front of one. Very respectable fight for a fish of around 4lb and I got to see quite a bit of backing. I could see beach fishing getting pretty addictive. Hopefully nothing has happened to the fish and they continue to show up in the days ahead. Not a bad meal on the BBQ either 2 Quote
RedBeard Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Beauty! I was a little too early this year for beach fishing in qualicum and parksville, but next year I'll be there at this time!! Quote
monger Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 Pkk...I have a co-worker who says something similar about Chinook and Coho...they are all made into dog food at their house. I guess everyone's tastes are different. Quote
