Coffee/espresso Machine

Recommended Posts

Espresso is great, except for one thing... It's a hell of a lot of work! I guess that's where those single use machines come in, but from what I understand the per cup costs are high!

Mike, you might want to check out Consumer Reports down at the library (or online, I think), they have reviewed Espresso machines through the years and rank them...

I have a Hamilton Beach espresso machine that I picked up @ Future Shop last year that has served me well and wasn't too expensive.

We did do a test of Flavia, Keurig, and Tassimo machines at work for the new office, and the Keurig won both on taste and ease of use. You can also buy special cups that allow you to use your own coffee.

Weedy: Read this a day or three ago and emailed "The Kid"(also known as "Food Boy") who is the coffee "connoisseur" of the family, asked his thoughts:

"There's really only delonghi and krups very comparable in that 130.00 , but realistically cheaper espresso machines (which combos are) are pretty crappy, and they take a long time to brew. They will get the job done but its not quick like at a coffee shop. Most would be disappointed. That's why I want to upgrade to a saeco espresso machine, 30 second espresso, sweet."
