General rule's:

 

-Rod length to a max of 10'

-Bring as many rods as you like

-Fly fishing only

-To count a fish you or your opponent must touch the leader or 9' of line

-Trout only,no size restrictions.Each trout is one point

-Foul hooked fish count (it happens)

-In order to count the fish it must be witnessed or at least a "yup i believe you" so fish close enough to each other.This also encourages people to help land there opponents fish.

-Follow the Forum rule's for posting pictures,also try to keep location out of the shot and ask your opponent if it's OK to post a pic of them or there fish

-General heckling and low holing or poaching your opponents water when there not looking is encouraged.lol.

-If you can not make the match or going to be on holidays just PM your opponents and make other arrangements,matches do not have to be on Wednesdays

-It's a good idea to discuss ahead of time when the match is going to end.

My thoughts are leave it.Since its me who plays #17 next week.

Its probably better to agree to a time when the match ends before you start,so theres no confusion.

Can we start trash talking yet? How about whining about the draw? Here is my whine:

 

I'm fishing against jayvee. Every place I look recently he is showing off some poly leader crap or talking about the 200 fish he's caught this winter. I haven't caught 200 fish in the last year (ok, maybe I have, but you can't prove it!). I think I should get a handicap. I don't know how old he is, but I say I get a 1 fish advantage for every 5 yrs of age differential. That oughta cover it.I think I should get that every week while we are on the subject. Except against tungsten, where I get 10 fish for every 5 yrs. And I'll still probably loose.

 

I am NOT looking forward to this. I see something like a 3-15 record in my future. Maybe I should wear a Maple Leaf crest on my sweater. Or the Flames.......

hummm, i dont remember a rod length rule... guess i have to go back and read again

 

i was planning on using my new Amundson 1134 spey/switch.

 

i am no pro with a switch and there is no advantage to me using an 11 ft rod over a 9ft rod, mostly because i am still learning the casts and cannot get a decent drift with it yet, never mind casting more than the 42 foot line and leader that i have to cast in the first place. And that is why i wanted to use it. i figured if i used it once a week i would get an opportunity to practice with it.

honestly, everyone is going to out fish me on the bow anyway. i dont fish the bow more than 5 times a year and have caught a total of 15 fish in the past 7 years out of the bow, most of them have been out of a drift boat. walking i have i think i have caught 3.

 

i want to learn to fish this rod and i want to learn to fish the Bow.

Jayvee and I tied with two fish each. Great way to start, and we had (or at least I had) a blast. We fished from like 6 or so to 8:30. Great evening to be out, if a little windy.....
