i'll say hi to Bob for you and pass on about your rod getting sent by USPS to the wrong place , it will show up , you should be able to get all you shipping cost back if it's there screw up , had it happen to me lots on mailing and getting reels , now if the postal system is 1 day late, i put in a claim for the shipping cost all back , dame we pay enough to mail stuff and when they say 8 days , it best be at my door in 8 days , i'v always had a disliking for USPS , they always seem to be a few days late , the best is UPS or fed x , cost a bit more but never had anything broke or lost

by the way , what model rod did you order and got coming when it does show up

To each his own but I would never ever use UPS. USPS dovetails very

well with Canada Post in my experience. I have had rods, reels etc

out of the US always coming USPS and have never had a problem.

The customs clearance fees from UPS are out of site and I refuse

to buy US side if they use UPS. Maybe it is just me. FedEx is not

any better than USPS in my experience. Last rod US to my door

7 days USPS.

Bob already has a claim in at USPS. If the rod does nog turn up in the next 10 days, he will build me a new one.

So all the things said about Bob on Speypages are correct, he is a great guy.

The rod I am expecting is the Highlander S 13' for a #6 with matching line.

Hi Guys,

Thought i had posted on this thread, but i guess old age doesn't come alone, if your into Speycasting or thinking about getting into Spey try and make it to this day, Bob is a great rod builder and a hell of a nice guy... if i was in Coo Toon i would make a point of being there.

You just need to show up for this one, don't need to regester. It's free and should be a heck of an event.

I'm marking this one on the calendar.. starting to get interested in a spey setup for the bigger water. I didn't see it menitoned, so I'm assuming we don't have to 'register' anywhere? Just show up?

i heard a rumour today that this got cancelled due to date conflicts.

please advise.

ladystrange ''

just a bunch of ''hen talk'' as you ladys call it , only a rumour , i'm sure the Meiz would of called me or doc to let us know it firsthand , not only that his rep from B.C flying in also for the party "Henry" , then after i promised henry's wife to put her onto a few big browns for 2 days of floating , she's caught lots of big fish , just not a nice brown

so just to let you know and everyone else , it's still a go and it will be a great time ,

Well sorry folks , bad news , got a phone call today from Bob , due to very personal reasons at the last min , Bob can't make it , he says sorry to everyone at this time ,and really was excited about coming to calgary for a few days to meet everyone ,plus to fish after , we were planning a big float for the second day with about 5 boats lined up ,

the plans are to now maybe hold it in Sept just before we all head out steelhead fishing ,

we thought about still holding it as his rep from B.C was also coming so we'd have about 10 differant rods for those to test drive , but after lots of chat we decided best to just hold off till Bob comes himself , he really wants to come to calgary

and those people that wanted his lines and those that wanted a rod, i will get them for you asap by fed x ,

again everyone , from myself and Bob , sorry we had to cancel it at this time

i sent you a email , but just in case you didn't get it

were all sorry , Bob won't be able to make it , he went away for the month of Augs with his wife , closed shop , now back and trying to catch up on his orders , i'm going myself away for 3 weeks , if you want to try a few Meiser rods before i go , send me a message and i'll meet you , thats goes for anyone , myself or doc will meet you , i have a few nice trout rods , plus a 6 wt switch rod in 11 ft thats wicked deadly on the bow , and for bigger rods , have his S rods series , one in a 7 wt that will handle any salmon or steelhead , even chinook's if you ever decide to chase em , the same model landed a few chinooks in 30 , 40 and 1 over 50 this year ,

i'm taking the 7 and the gold medal stick with me for steelhead this year

maybe in the spring we will try again to hold it
