DutchDryFly To each his own but I would never ever use UPS. USPS dovetails very well with Canada Post in my experience. I have had rods, reels etc out of the US always coming USPS and have never had a problem. The customs clearance fees from UPS are out of site and I refuse to buy US side if they use UPS. Maybe it is just me. FedEx is not any better than USPS in my experience. Last rod US to my door 7 days USPS.

If you are on the look out for a quality Tapered Loop UE Salmon/Steelhead wet fly hook , take a look at the Gamakatsu T10-6H. They are a fine first class hook and are scary sharp. Same class as the TMC 7999 and the Mustad 36890 but from a finish and sharpness standpoint I think the Gama is the clear winner. This is going to be my go to hook for a lot of my wet patterns. But everybody has their personal favourites. I don't sell them and have no association with them what so ever.

Sun From one of the most prestigious science journals (the other day) that some people access daily "The Calgary Sun" I see that AP has done a review of said e-mails (some million words I think) and found nothing substantially erroneous to discredit the current science findings. Does that count for nothing ? Maybe they are part of the conspiracy too. As to geologists weighing in on climate change matters; that is fine, everyone has an opinion but I think it gets a little dangerous when we go to the ear/nose and throat guy for a brain tumor. But hey they are both doctors and practice medicine. You should be ok. PS Have you read the book yet ? Wanna borrow my copy...seriously ? The great thing about the book is that you can read it as a fiction if you like.

Before closing the thread may I offer up a very interesting read. Climate Cover-up by James Hoggan. I am not condoning being "Jonesed" ... the outrage speaks for itself but if you want a glimpse of how the real big boys play read the book. Some references to "reputable" go to disciples (suggested on this site) for the denier crowd are in for a little insight. Yes it is a view from the other side of the Grand Canyon and yes it deals with the "hockey stick" and it exposes how we are manipulated given what is at stake. If after reading the book and you are still comfortable with your stand fine. The book is less than a flat of beer and it is the cheapest tuition fee on climate politics around. Suggest you read the book first then come back and do the poll thing considering what may or may not be at stake. It would have been an interesting question on the poll "How many have read the book ?" Cheers Tim

Sun I am assuming you have answered yes to the hypothetical poll. If you can get a finite resource's cost to escalate after it is all gone then quit wasting your time here .... your on to something. As to my list I was thinking along the lines of using you as my cap and trade partner and as long as I don't stray to far your positive enviro footprint should cancel out my negative. Sum gain zero. Don't you get the feeling that we are fiddling while Rome burns? Climate warming, climate cooling disigenious plot by those dasdardly climate scientists...who cares in the big picture if were talking about just us surviving. Maybe the end justifys the means. " Do you believe that if we take the population of India and China and add them to the North American population that there is enough carbon resources to sustain the increase in the current North American life style for say 100 years ?" Sun All rhetoric aside we can all goggle any particular position we care to support at any particular time. Sure data has been manipulated and destroyed...not good but we will get past it. It does not change the the fact that our society is buzzing along at warp speed and it still is not fast enough. Improve gas mileage on vehicles and we just drive further. I do it. More is better right ? Do you honestly believe that the earth can support the Current North American lifestyle with the addition of China and India ? There is not enough carbon resources to go around never mind that you probably could not breathe the air. Think Mexico city. The one problem I sense is that there is a brick wall out there, unfortunately I don't know how far out but we are going to hit it. Our whole existence is based on non-renewables and I don't think you will find many deniers. So what to do ? Continue to subsidize and prop up the non -renewable consumption or forge ahead and get off the carbon. Were going to spend the money anyway so why not direct it toward assisting a supportable, nature friendly, sustainable quality of life for the next generation. God knows we have had our day in the sun and maybe just maybe we should start introducing it ( the sun ) along with other renewables into our way of living on this rock. We need a level playing field for this to happen. Cut the carbon subsidies or at least direct some reasonable subsidies to renewables to help kick start. What could renewables do with what we are going to spend on a still unproven CO2 sequeestering experiement ? We are squandering our most precious commodity...time and yes we need carbon to buy us what little time we have left to make the transition. But no bones about it, we need to kick the carbon habit before it kicks us. It is definitely a moral and ethical decision for me. Denial is a very important coping mechanism that helps our survival otherwise in todays world some of us would not even get out of bed but carried too far and I think we can inflict irreparable harm as in cease to exist as a species. Techo fixes to carbon issues will not change the inevitable....at some point no carbons left. Sun I will leave it to you to update but the best I could find is about 100+ hectares out of over 400,000 hectares officially certified as reclaimed. It may be better than that. But equally as important is the reclamation bonding held by the us maybe $500 million in total. Assuming $150,000 per hectare to reclaim and the above 400,000 (give or take) figure above you might conclude that Albertans are taking on more than their fair share of risk. I don't know if the 100+ hectares included any tailing area(s) which one would thing would be quite a bit more per hectare to reclaim.

Yes what a travesty. But what concerns me is that because of 4+ player's exchange of e-mails the pseudo science is out the window ?? What about all the other 1496 soles who have spent their entire lives working in the field? Are they all in this conspiracy together? Is some of there findings crap also ? I am not condoning their actvities and my own position is of no importance but I think considering what may be at stake we still need climate science to continue if for no other reason than to refute civilization's activities contributing towards global warming. That might not be possible if sources of funding dry up. The climate science community really needs to stand up and renounce the serious lack of judgment of these individuals and insure that their climate investigation careers are finished. Hey there is hope though, with this kind of stuff going on maybe, just maybe world oil supply has not peaked either.
