somereddeerguy Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 im not talking about a few hours away im talking fishing is more important than family overall. 4 days with an aging family member or four days fishing trip? wat would u guys do Quote
OneMoreLastCast Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 There'll always be another fishing trip....easy answer for me. Quote
dAm Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 The fish will be there next week, month, year. The "aging" family member may not be. Quote
Hawgstoppah Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Family is forever. Fishing isn't. But fishing is CERTAINLY #2 on my list. Gonna make a new poll... *grin* Quote
Hawgstoppah Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I'm assuming he/she is on his/her deathbed and not able to be mobile in this case... or else I'd go with toolman's answer as well Quote

grannyknot Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I'd toss them in a wheelchair and take them to Mt. Lorette if I could, but really, I might be disapointed, but family first. Quote
Pikebreath Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Well,,,, it might depend on how much money the old geezer has? Seriously, when you say family, I am assuming they are "close" to you in way or another, so I would go family all the way! But ,,,,if it's old cousin Pete who you haven't exchanged Christmas cards with for years now,,, well the fishing starts looking pretty good again,,,,, unless, of course, cousin Pete has a lot of money and no will made up yet!!! ladystrange Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 humm that's a tough one. but i think i would have to go with toolman, i'd drag my mom with me. oh wait, i just did that... 2 weeks of my mother and she didnt want to go fishing. come to think of it, SJW idea is sounding better all the time. i should have gone fishing. reevesr1 Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 No Kids No Wife .............IM GOIN FISHIN. If I don't back off on the fishing, I might be in the same situation! Quote
caksc1 Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 If I don't back off on the fishing, I might be in the same situation! Rick, so I guess you wouldn't want to skip out after lunch tomorrow to hit the river......? I plan to..... As for the question at hand....kids grow up too fast to let that slip by. I have however already instructed my wife to take me on my very last fishing trip...'course I'll be in an urn at the time.... Quote
WesG Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I seem to kind of be in the same situation only for me its mountain biking. The sister is having all the family (Uncles, Aunts, Cousins) at her place for thanksgiving, only at the same time all the friends are going to Nelson for the annual Thanksgiving Nelson bike trip. I have neither family or friends since May and havent been on the bike much since then either. The bike trip is slowly winning out... however my sister has threatened to divorce me as her brother if I dont come........ What to do, what to do? Quote
