  1. Anybody have an idea what BC rakes in a year on the classified licenses. We always say were short on enforcement. Might help to hire a few more. We still go to BC to fish theyll still come here. My 2 cents
  2. Tested my old one out a few days ago it had expired 2007.OOPS. Never fired one before so i tried it after i got my new one. Started off with a splatter then sprayed but i dont think it got more than 5 ft. Wasnt no 15-25 ft like the can states. Yikes. Cant believe you have to sign for that stuff now.
  3. Harps. Looking at the water clarity and the stream bank im sure you dont need to send me the GPS co-ordinates. Saw a few reeds in the same area last weekend but had no fish on them. Dam come to think of it never saw a fish all day except the ones that missed that big ass foam fly of FFF.
  4. Ya picked some up with Guito on the crow a while back. No fish on them tho. Thanks for the update Harps.
  5. Ya im involved in a project too. Alberta has no trophy lakes. Um im going all out for this one. Gonna make it a first.
  6. Ya a replica would have done just fine even better. Dam should have bonked that 26 lb gattor last week!!!!!Dont worry my heart is set on 30lbs and it will be released and replicated. 15 years of pike fishin it will happen. Length, girth whalla fiberglass. Release the gal to her home water.
  7. rickr I agree totally with you on the excellent job jeff is doing. One problem i do have is -If all he does is follow the rules. The rules for C&R, no bull trout, barbless hooks and the list goes on. Then there should be no warning. How many years from now are we going to be writting warnings on something that has been implimented years ago.OOps didnt know it was barbless. Didnt know there was a bait ban and they walked right past the sign.See it all the time on the bow fishing closed waters and using bait.Cos and officers like Jeff can only be so many places its a big ass country. All im trying to say is why has BC made the rules. Published the rules and have no tolerance for breaking them 0.Try to say oops in BC i gurantee itll cost you.Try to get away with a seat belt ticket. The law is written and you disobeyed or failed to follow BAM instant. Im just saying if the rules are written enforce them for a while no warnings. Do this for 6 months and ya publish it in the paper. Hell paper says big pike caught in beaver pond. Was bonked and going to be mounted. Um today a replica would do just fine. How about a headline where fishing with barbed hooks cost $500 or fishing with bait cost $500.And ya drag them to court. im sure word of mouth travels just fine. Jeff glad to support your work.
  8. So i have fished in BC. The regulation states barbless hooks. The COs i have been checked by look at the fly and insert the fly into their wool sweater. If it snags on the way out !!!!!!!!Automatic fine for not fishing barbless. No questions about it or warnings.Look on the shelves at the sporting shops in BC. They went single hooks on the regs and youll be hard pressed to fing a treble or other hook. I was amazed even the mepps and panther martens were single/barbless hooks. So if alberta has gone barbless why cant the shops carry barbless hooks like BC. This has been in the regulations for a few years.I was in a fly shop in BC a little while back and was amazed by the selection of barbless hooks in the fly tying section. Try to find barbless hooks in alberta only found a few packs of T200bl hooks. Even the tied flies were barbless. I know were light years behind BC on the regs. But i have to agree with Brian on this. We have been barbless for years. At what point in time do we say enough is enough and start writting tickets. No warnings. Um the regs have stated barbless for years. There are signs posted at most locations.regs are handed out with licenses and are available on line.If your too stupid or lazy to read them OOPS. Alberta adopted the 3 pt regulation for hunting years ago. And yes the Regs state the length of the points.Try to get away with that one , there are no warnings.Bam busted you loose your hunting privelages see you in court.AUTOMATIC. If were going to adopt and make rules for hunting and fishing enforce them. Thats why we have auctions to provide extra support. Enough of this i didnt know! or nobody told me crap. We all see the bait jars and pickeral rigs on the banks of our secret and special waters. I drew the line and every offence i see im calling. Might be able to pay for this bad habit called flyfishing!!!!! Cuttbow OUT>
  9. Ya i wish they would rerun a few seasons of the Dimestore fisherman-They were my favorites.
  10. I only use my 8 and 10 wt. No mono or shock tippet anymore. I use 6-8 ft of the berkly tyable steel leader.(20lb) ties just like mono. And use a loop to loop connection on my flyline. With a floating line you can present the big flies from 3-12 ft. Was on a trip with brian 2 weeks ago and he used a 6wt 10ft rod lots of backbone and had no problem with 15 lb gattors .
  11. Ok lets see 6 out of 10 GENERAL FORUM RULES have been broken here. I see a lot of uncalled crap going on. Wheres the p-wood with the fast finger as taco calls it. Glad i didnt post the photo of the 20 lb gattor last week the only way i could handle it was to use Clives gill plate and bogo grip.No i didnt lift her out of the water for those that are curious. I do see alot of photos being deleted because they might offend people on this site and start WW3.What about some of these unacceptable posts?Dont worry! to be safe i wont be posting any photos on this site. Hang on DBT joining you for a miller.

    First Pike!

Just like you did eh!!! Brian. And you thought it was only 6 pounds-Oh the look on your face:masterbaiter:
  13. This is getting crazy. Yes i have to agree after years of pike fishing a craddle is best for large gattors.A few years ago i switched to a bogo grip to handle the fish. I dont hoist them out of the water just hold their lower jaw.I find that 75% of the time this eliminates the need for jaw spreaders.(which to my opinion is a good thing). Was dealing with a 20+ gattor on sunday and some older gent comes up and says it was cruel i could wreck its jaw. Needless to say i didnt use it for the rest of the day. Going home i stopped to see how the guy was doing and he had 3 large pike on a stringer(still alive). This should be addressed in the fishing regs-Drowning fish is illegal. He asssured me he was just releasing them now. HUM large treble.Large smelt.he hooked into a 10 plus gattor when i was there so i helped him out.You couldnt even see the hook i told him to cut his line and let her go. After banging around on the rocks ,jaw spreaders and long pliers he got his beloved hook out. Only blood coming from both sides of the gills. He threw her back and she floated. I jumped in said WTF and spent some time reviving her.Point is well still be adressing handling issues for years to come.Ive caught and released some big dam gattors and i try to be gentle as possible. But how many havnt made it? If i catch a 25 inch trout and my net is designed for 16 inch trout i still use the net. For big gattors Clives finger to the gill plate works extremly well. Keep on with the great vids man. Your first gattor trip.Big fish welcome to the adiction club.
  14. Ohh check out some 20 lb gattors have a beer same as tthe last 2 months.
  15. Was there wed went for a hike looked like 2 inches of ice. The night did hit -3 waited till 2pm to toss a fly
  16. Nope its still ice fishn. As of yesterday
  17. Ya single fly rule in the parks. Use caution on the lead part. You cant even have it in possession. Had the wand out .*hit most of my streamers were lead weighted. If you even have lead weighted flies you can be fined. Did the holly *hit puzzled look and got a warning.
  18. Gotta love it. Well done man.
  19. Sweet pic man looks like a pound of superhair on that fly.
