that would be really cool. i have only fished chain lakes and beaver mines, both are kind of windy. i would like to try ghost resevoir, gap lake, possibily grotto. i haven't fished upper and lower k or spray.

i have wanted to build a fly rod for awhile now. does anyone know of any classes over the winter? has anyone built one and how did it work out? suggestions for blanks, guides etc any suggestions on where to begin or who to contact in the calgary area

no actually i didn't. just 1 offer. i already know a few ppl through facebok, which is how i ended up here in the first place, so they have already invited me fishing. i have had a lot of visits though. just not enough time this summer. hopefully fall and ice fishing in the winter will be better. i should have more time on my hands.

from what i understand there are a few more than .3% maybe 5%, that being said, i almost never see another woman on the river. maybe they are just clique-y and all fish together. maybe they aren't that adventureous or social. personally i only know 2 other than myself and a few others who want to try it. but the ones i do know ARE single. if that helps at all i have also heard that there is a group for women only and has something to with breast cancer, stroke or something to that effect. i read an article about it a few years ago. women learing to fly fish and teaching other women who have had breast cancer as a way of rehab and exercise etc. i'm ok with being a minority

since i am currently single, i can't foresee anyone in particular that i would bring, but i'm sure i could wrangle someone up if need be. not like i don't know a enough people. i will have to see if i can swing 3 days. problem being is that i am taking a full month off to travel and will have used up my vacation time. a long weekend would work. i guess i have to check the regs for opening and closure dates.

ok, it is getting late in the season this year. goldens are my dream fish. next season i would love to do the heli trip in and see if i can spend a day or 2. anyone willing to save change from the penny jar for a trip next season??? TimD - did you manage to get up to barnaby with the forestry closure?

i dont know if you have made it to BC yet, but from what i have heard they have closed the fraser to fishing for sockeye, i missed why but they only expect about a million to reach the spawning grounds so no sport and commerical fishing and very limited native fishing and no sale of sockeye to the public. as for camping and fishing along the way, i'm sorry to say, i don't really remember... mini and stoney lakes on the douglas lake ranch were good and so was knouff lakes outside of kamloops. sorry i can't be of much help, it has been forever since i have camped and fished bc and when i had it was with my parents os i didnt really pay much attention to where i was. if you hit the lower main land. the squamish. chehalus (spelling??) and chequimus rivers i have heard are all great. you could try the chilliwack/veder for dollies. i'm heading out this weekend

thanks Rickr, Tee and my buddy Maxwell - we still have to go fishing there boy. summer has been a disaster for house sitting, that is all i seem to be doing. maybe october when i am back from fishing the coast. the link worked this time Tee, yikes. i'm not sure on the whole condom thing, maybe if my camera wasnt worth more than my paycheck, i might consider it. but well since it is a little pricier than that, i think i will hold off on trying it until i can find a cheap-o camera that i don't have to worry about... i would rather have a higher end camera for what i want to take pictures of and the quality that i need. great pics rickr. maxwell - your facebook pics, those taken with the pentax? if so, i will go and look a little more carefully.
