  9. Great job man...and welcome to the board Bree. My daughter is 8 and she loves fishing as well. I have to get her on the fly rod soon i guess. I only spin cast with my kids in the lake but they have a great time in the boat. i guess i need to get some pics also. we need to get all the kids together sometime Jeff. Would be cool to have a little kids fish-a-thon with all the members kids. Ed
  10. you kill me Rick...that was funny....except for the Canadian part
  11. Did anyone on here say that they thought they are better than American's...No. Do i want to be compared to them...absolutly not. I believe we as Canucks are individual. Americans still wear Canadian flags on there backpacks when they travel to Europian countries because they know they will get treated better. I know this for a fact...I talked to Americans with it on. I'm sure not going to throw the stars and stripes on and go back packing through Europe or Central/South America. I do not want to pile all Americans into the same bracket though, that would be unfair. I have many American friends that i would give the shirt off my back if they needed it. I work in the US alot and i see both sides that's all. Many great super nice, super friendly people and alot of jerks who still think i live in a igloo and ride a dog sled to work in July. Been out with Americans and we run into some group being dicks and they said "and we wonder why nobody likes us". To my friends from this forum who are American i mean no disrespect to you or your home country and i think you all know that. As i said above we can't judge all by the actions of a few. Wasn't this thread about Mexico? I'll be back there next year with my kids again and won't think twice about it. You need to be smart. JMO
  12. 2L is great. 3\4 bottle of coke and 1\2 bottle of crown and away ya go i use mine mostly on the pontoon, i just through the straps over the seat and have the hose at hand for a sip anytime i like.
  13. I've been to Mexico 8 times without a problem. But i stay close to the resort. Shop during the day and stay on main streets. I have had friends get into trouble though. One friend robbed by police after walking out of a bank machine at 1 am (very dumb move). Another stip searched at gun point after getting lost in PV and going down an alley(also robbed) If you just use your head you will be fine. As for them liking Canadians i think we are still going strong down there. I saw tons of Americans making asses of themselves down there(as well as a few Canadians). Talking to the staff they all seem to say that they still prefer us over the rest.(even newfies ...just kiddin folks) One thing that did change though was that this was the first time i could buy stuff with Canadian money if i wanted to and we got a better exchange rate than the us dollar. Hope i didn't offend any of the yanks on here(Rickr) but what can we say....peaple like us
  14. I'd like to say happy mothers day to any of the fly ladies that are on this site. Thanks for keeping us boys straight.
  15. if you go to Carsland don't forget that the river is closed between the wier and HWY 24 till the end of the month. It's only a five minute walk to the bridge if you stay in loop A and there is some good fishin right after it. Also try Bow Valley by Sibald flats. The Bow runs right along side of it. Also # sisters in Canmore is on the Bow.
  16. I'm looking forward to it as well. The only thing that i would suggest is that we dio it a little earlier this year so the park is open till 10. It closing last year at 8 was a real bummer. It would give us more time to chat and hand out. We still had wood left to burn man....thats just wrong . was a good expirience for my kids as well to learn to help out the enviroment.
  17. well we made it back...all though is is to snow, cold and no playoff hockey. Piss me off. I never got to go fishing. Had it booked and the captain cancelled because of rough water to days in a row and then we ran out of time. Oh well. we'll be back next year. It sure is beutifull there and alot different atmosphere than Cancun. I hear that it is safer there as well. I will post a couple of pics later. I told everybody i talked to about our river and what a gem it was. The captain of the fishing boat had even heard of it.
  18. Hola from Playa Del Carmen. It`s hot as hell here and i^m burnt to a crisp. Have not had a chance to go fishing yet but we talked to some people here that went and they got 2 marlins. Pic`s looked awsome. Really wavy though and they have cancels some trips so we might not do it. Will depend on the wife. Nice fish Rick. I will post some pics when we get back. I sure miss our river. Heard it snowed on thursday....HAHA:::..31 here that day. Later ..Ed
