i dn't think you can book ahead in Carsland except in the little private area by the store. WE used to have to set up a tent 2 days early to get a spot on the longweekends. They do have some big double sites though. we could probably get a bunch together. There a group campsite on the highwood we go to every year. out by longview. Holds 100 peaple i bet. Huge fire pit.all the wood you want, cook shack if it rains, baseball diamond and horseshoe pit. 5min walk to the river. Padlock on gate so its totally private. we go buck wild in there, no one aroound for miles.

Ok i'm still in but what the hell. Spend 5 hours on the river with no hook. Seems like sacralige to me. Like guys i see walking there dogs along the bank without a flyrod in there hands. That will be hard to do but i'm in it for the team and the betterment of my skills. There better be some GD fishin going on after though. Hard enough to get time away from the family for real fishin.

I had something to say there but i don't know ya well enough yet. If Rickr had said that i'd of been all over him. What the hell is a CLAVE I'm down for a camping weekend also.

if you fish all winter do you really have to replace your line in spring?

yeaaaah. this actually sounds like it would be alot of fun. Some fitchin and some wobbly pops. only one handers though ya cheatin bastards. ps and thanks birchy..i'm quit happy with my progress this year. Even had the pleasure of the king of swing swinging my rod for the nymping clinic at the bow river clean up. Tahts as close as i've come to fishin with one of the legends. Correction, i do fish with LK2 and i consider him a well knowleged fisherman and great fun to fish with. has taught me alot. Still need Greg,MTB max, hawg,rev bob, kung fool and san juan if none of the above can make it. LOL just kidding.. any time man.

Tahts what i been doing. Actually caught a fish yesterday while i was doing the end one. Line starts zippin out as i'm holding the middle of the rod. Goes to show ya should let er drift a little while at the end of your cast eh? hadd to uv been drifting a good 30 secs or so while i pissed around.

met all kinds of people at the airport. Wrestlers, hockey players, hollywood types. Fueled Aerosmiths plane at the executive flight centre and sat on the plane and talked with them for an hour. Unloaded Rod stewarts plane and he gave us all free tickets(didn't use them) Met Gretzky. Grew up in the same town as Marty Mcsorley Cayuga so it was him that introduced me to wayne. Had supper at Harveys with Gene simmonds and shannon tweed when they came up for a ski thingy. List goes on. Kind of a cool perk to the job. Oh and i also met Bono in Customs. Just a little fella. Dolly parton....there big in real life... and just as short as Bono. Wish i had some pics though. Got lots of hockey cards signed though.

the more peaple that stay home the more river there is for me. I work outside all day so standing at the river freezing my ass off should be a piece of cake. I'd rather be doing it fishing than working. Maybe i should try the heating sensation KY instead of vasoline.

I can't wait to see hords of us wearing this at the flyshow. We'll be quite the gang. It's gonna be awsome. pp.s. i to wish i looked overlaid....nice one weedy1

What do you all use for your eyelets icing up in winter. Do you have to buy that stuff from the store? I heard that vasoline works. Also, what about line maitanence. How do you all clean the line/reel or do you. Should i be oiling the reel?. Heard someone say they put wd40 on there line to clean it. If i'm going to fish all winter do i even need to clean line since it won't be sitting all winter.

Yaaa. That last one rocks..YYZ for me, 18 years, now 18 years in YYC. Worked at the airport the first ten years.
