  1. They were right beside the railroad bridge just downstream from Calf Robe.
  2. Was riding along a dirt path on the Bow this afternoon and came across a group of guys fishing in beach chairs with a pail and one had a bobber. Called it in but didn't expect much as it was a difficult to reach spot. Turns out they found the guys- 4 counts of fishing with bait and 3 counts of poaching. Made my bike ride extra special today. When in doubt, call it in...
  3. HDR settings? Nice shot!
  4. I had one FNG officer come all the way from High River as everyone in Calgary was unavailable.
  5. Does anyone know if the contractor was required to change out the excavator's fluids with enviro oil and hydraulic fluid? Last summer on a line replacement job in BC, we had to swap out an excavator's fluid with enviro rated stuff and that was just to walk it across the coquihalla river.
  6. Just be careful where you park along the Snaring. I had the windows of my car smashed out while I wetting my line a couple of years ago.
  7. Using it on the Thompson?
  8. Thank god they got out of selling Spey rods. I picked up a Hardy zenith 8 weight Spey rod for $700 from their web site just before Christmas
  9. Thanks bigbow. Now to convince the guy who was spin fishing by Prince's Island to believe me that that stretch of the river is closed until June.
  10. Was down at the Douglasdale pedestrian bridge this morning. Noticed two guys using definite bait rigs- float, 4 hook set-up and heavy pencil weight at the bottom, but no bait. One came up and started talking to me, so I reminded him that regs state no bait and release anything longer than 35 cm. Anyone know the max # hooks you can use- I told him 2, but not sure if that is correct.
  11. I now know a perfect use for purple crown royal bags...
  12. Uber: I was inside city limits down near fish creek. I think it is an area where browns and bows move through as I have caught 5 bows over 20" and one 26" brown last month. However, it has gotten very quiet as the temps dropped.
  13. Try the rapala knot. I was experiencing a lot of break offs using the clinch and improved clinch. A buddy suggested using the rapala knot and I have only experienced one break off in the last month since switching. I swing streamers and use 3x Tippett. Last week I landed a 30" rainbow and the knot was good to go for a couple of more fish before I called it a day...
