  1. I guess this round covers the realistics too eh? Wow, nice flies people!!
  2. Don't know a whole lot about this topic but here is some hatchery info. Maybe someone with knowledge on the subject will chime in. http://content.cdlib.org/xtf/view?docId=kt...rand=calisphere
  3. I didn't realize you were a woman. (Ya go ahead, bring it on, it's just a joke! )
  4. If you want top notch protection go with glacier goggles. I used glasses similar to the ones shown in the link for years. If it wasn't for them not being available at MEC last year when I needed new polarized glasses I would have bought them again. Nothing beats them for protection, period. Hike across a glacier bowl in the middle of a summer heat wave and you will know why climbers use these types of glasses. Drawback - you will get pronounced Raccoon eyes and they have a high goof factor to them. http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail....D=1207946800153
  5. I had those shades. Found them at a George Thorogood concert. Those glasses are the reason I'm still so cool today. How could have Elwood and Jake been wrong?
  6. Yes part of the theory. I guess we need to ask the fish.
  7. It isn't pointed towards Dustin or his uncle by any stretch of the imagination.
  8. I thought you guys down in Calgary drank this stuff.
  9. It depends when you are looking and when the images were shot. The developers seem to spend more time ensuring the popular and populated areas are well defined while the remaining areas get updated later and when more data is available. I have been using it since it was available and have seen drastic changes. I think it has to be one of the best free services available on the net. All the Bow river secret spots are shown clearly on Google Earth though. These guys on this site think their hiding something.
  10. Great shots. Looks like you have a new fly fisher in the family. Better start saving for all the gear he's going to want.
  11. As far as I know it's the basic version of Google Earth. It is version 4.2.0198.2451(beta). I had paid a twenty dollar subscription fee some time ago but don' think it applies to the version I am using now. It is not the pro version - $400 is a little steep.
  12. There is also a description in the Ab fishing guide. It says 20 km south of Beaver Mines on 774 there is access to a trailhead. This would indicate the trail comes from the north end of the mountain as opposed to the up and over insanity route. I would assume the trail follows the creek bed up to the north lake.
  13. This is the only info on the net I could find that may be useful. See page 50. http://www.libertypages.com/chris/books/saguide1-50.pdf I also searched my map sets and old not find any trails, only roads. First pic is looking south and second pic looking east. I'd go east from the resort right up over the ridge if I had to choose. Less bush, more rock. I can feel the legs burning just typing this.
  14. Part of the theory you're talking about is that fish will feed heavily when a storm is approaching because once the pressure starts to change they will have to spend time compensating for the pressure change and will not be able to feed during that time.
  15. I can't direct you to any articles but here are some calculations. 1 Atmospheric pressure = 101.325KPa = 406.782 inch of water = 33.898 feet of water Atmospheric pressure fluctuations are typically no more than a few KPa in a day but for illustrative purposes lets say the pressure change is 7 KPa. 7KPa * 406.782 inch of water / 101.325KPa = 28.1 inches of water column. If a fish were to swim up or down 28.1 inches this would have the same effect on the fish as if the barometric pressure changed 7KPa. The lowest atmospheric pressure ever recorded at sea level was 87 KPa. Personally I don't think atmospheric pressure fluctuations have any effect on freshwater fish. The change in light and surface conditions of the water would play a larger role.
  16. Tom Lukiwski is a member of Parliament. http://www.lukiwski.ca/ Brad Wall, one of the other guys on the tape is Saskatchewan's current Premier. http://www.gov.sk.ca/premier/
  17. It has been a long time desire of mine to take a class that would teach me a method of joining myself with the divine, universal Spirit. I have read extensively on Yoga and inquired with a local company that teaches Yoga. I figure Yoga and fly fishing would naturally go hand in hand. The physical and mental exercises taught in Yoga are designed to help achieve a meditative state that most people probably will never understand. Has anyone else on this board ever taken any Yoga classes and if so what are you feelings in regards to the meditative states that can be reached?
  18. That's hilarious. Clive is going to love it.
  19. Warning - language and generally revealing language - in other words he screwed himself. So what do you think? How long will he last? Will Stephen turf him? Click here if the movie does not play.
  20. What you see: What an Edmonton fan sees:
  21. There's no guarantee you'll get anything but a bad sunburn, or the runs. Have fun, sounds like a blast.
